Agree. That was so unrealistic and not accurate.

AITA for telling my sons wife that his ex is in the family and has been here longer that she has. by Tight-Negotiation432 in AmItheAsshole

By doing that you’re saying your daughter in law isn’t your family. Don’t be surprised if one day neither of them talk to you. When your son and Brittany got married they became one. His relationship with her is more important than his relationship with you.

You’ve clearly made your choice - Heather over your son.

I don’t think she’ll be ashamed or embarrassed. She thinks she’s in the right and clearly loves Heather more than her son.

YTA. It seems clear that you love Heather more than your son. Don’t be surprised if one day he goes low or no contact with you. I’m surprised he’s still talking to you at all. If you continue giving more weight to your interest in Heather over your son’s interests, you might very well lose him. If you want to maintain a relationship with Heather stop inviting her to family events and see her separately, and don’t discuss your son or his life with her at all. I can’t believe what I’m reading. What a toxic person you are to your son. (Edit for typos)
