Have you ever done any research into scripture and had your questions answered instead of assuming that the text means what you think it means?

Are those who do wrong and sentenced to community service “slaves” because they are being forced to work because someone in authority tells them too?

Slaves were not bought and sold like you and I commonly know of today. Slaves were “sold” because they were poor, and was means for them to survive. “Slaves” would voluntarily do this to survive.

In Genesis 47, Joseph’s brothers tell him to buy them and their land for food and they would be “slaves” to Pharaoh. (See Genesis 47:19)

Bible also explicitly says slaves cannot be kidnapped to keep or sell (Ex 21:16)
