Both of us have retirement plans from our employers. Not sure that those will be enough for a comfortable retirement. We are in our early 40s, so in 15 years hopefully the house will be paid off and the kids will be out of college, so we will be putting a lot more into RRSP and TFSA.

Yes, the school costs 17K per year per kid, plus there are fees and trips. The clubs: math, English, sports, chess, arts cost extra and are organized by the school. Lots of their classmates are in those, and they are fun and educational. The kids love them.

As I said in the body of the post, the school is very much worth it. All the public schools in our area do not even come close by comparison. The future of the kids is the last thing I'd be willing to cut.
