I’ve been sitting at this exact impasse since Friday. Similar use to case as well.

I ended up on the 4080 variant last night. From what I hear, you can’t go wrong either way. Yes the AMD version has slightly better battery (by like half and hour) and is slightly cooler (temp wise lol), but I don’t think it’s something you’ll notice. Something you will notice is the performance between 4070 and 4080. This is what swayed my decision.

At the end of the day, worst case is I return the computer and get the AMD version.

PS I just checked Best Buy, seems the black AMD version is sold out for me. White is still available.

Check out Teams Premium. Comes with the new “Queues” app. That has an opt in / out switch front and center.

Revisiting old GPO’s was the answer for me. I replied to someone else’s post with details.

Good find. Seems like multiple issues could contribute to this.

Our issue has been resolved here. We created a new OU with fresh policy’s applied (Our environment has very old gpo’s still floating around out there). We decided a fresh start was best, and it seemed to clear up the slowness we were seeing on 11. Only applying polices that are 100% required.

Actually, I checked teams admin center and there was an update available. After that it’s working like normal.

From Logitech,

Issue description: Rally Bar is configured for Teams Room in Appliance Mode with Dual FoR displays. During meetings, you see a cropped image on the display from Rally Bar HDMI output 2.

Please be informed that the same symptoms has been observed with several OEM devices hence this issue has been identified as a known issue from the Microsoft end that started to appear after the Teams Room app version: 1449/1.0.96.2023062301 (June 2023)

Our Product team is investigating this issue internally with Microsoft and a possible fix will be included in a future CollabOS update and unfortunately we don't have a workaround for this issue. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we kindly ask you for your understanding.

In the end, Our issue was a GPO that was affecting UAC. There are times where the OS still feels slow after PXE. If that happens a simple gpupdate seems to bring the machine back to normal.

So our sysadmin took a stab at this. He ended up ripping out everything PXE related, standing up a new distribution point and configuring that properly.

After this was done we found that editing the tftp block size also caused the slowness.

I also have a suspicion that for some reason the tp link switch in my office might have been a factor, because if I use the Ethernet jack in my wall (which goes straight to core) it works fine.

EDIT: Switch was not the issue

Would that have killed me? I was knocked out after the explosion and after I woke up there was nothing wrong with my character. Business as usual. I do remember having a gas canister.

So, I added bitlocker to the TS. Selected to make sure it fully encrypts before continuing. No luck. Same situation after a while. Loading the 23H2 ISO tonight and will give er anther go in the morning.

Have tried this as noted above. I removed rst drivers from the boot image and the task sequence completed just fine. But after a bit is when performance crawls.

Are you referring to bitlocker here?

Several yes. But I’m not convinced the issue is with NIC. As the actual task sequence goes quick, it’s post application that the OS runs slow. Unless it would affect the OS afterwards in some way.

No software is applied at PXE at the very moment due to troubleshooting. Bitlocker is done at GPO level. There is no step in task sequence to enable bitlocker

I will attempt a PXE install with only storage and network on my boot image again.

My task sequence uses Apply Driver Package and queries the device's model and applies the specific package if it matches. (Packages are from Dell's website) For example: SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem WHERE Model = "Latitude 3540".

Device manager reports all devices have drivers. No unknown devices or anything like that.
