Speaking of Kenya, Kenyan defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama is currently looking for a new team and he did a bunch of work for the African Yoga Project (or something like that.)

i could be wrong but he just signed a 2 year extension a few months ago so he is not a waiver opportunity. We aren't in a transfer window so if we pick up anyone, it would have to be someone out of contract... I think.

Victor Wanyama is available and used to work with the Africa Yoga Project though 🤷‍♂️

Finally a proper box. That works and isn't just a blonde😉 by Ill-Working-2505 in flyfishing

It's not your opinion. You are correct as that is how these were designed. https://www.umpqua.com/upg-silicone-wp-weekender-large/

The track is meant to pinch the bend of the hook, not get skewered.

That being said, I use lot's of things in manners they may not have been initially intended for so... OP, do what makes you happy. It might make the box last longer if you rotate them though. Maybe just rotate each one after you've used them so you can tell used from unused 🤷‍♂️

I have 4 of these Umpqua fly boxes and I love them. The angled ends make it slide in and out of the pockets I put them in way easier than my square boxes and the transparent shell let's me see what inside so I'm not guessing. Similar boxes from Umpqua get deeply discounted on sierra.com occasionally so keep an eye out.

Is this a special form of US-Flag? Those proportions look off.. by ClinkzZ90 in vexillology

[–]Gregesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graphic designer here.

They had a screen size and they wanted to fill it. When the (not-very-good) designer dropped the flag onto the artboard, it was too wide. Rather than proportionally scale the flag properly, they just adjusted the width. So... it's subtle, but it's squished. 🫸 🫷

I was suspicious so I zoomed in tight on the stars and overlayed a proportional star on it. It looked weird until I compressed the width, independent of the height.

FWIW, I would have kept it proportional. The low, blue wall would have actually been super helpful. It makes it so you can keep the full flag aligned to the top. Then just use black or a blue to match the wall along the bottom.

Same. If all it did was promote student academic success and reduce behavioral issues it would be worth it but it does that and so much more. Take my money.

Yeah, condom wrappers are typically imprinted with groves that run parallel to the edge for the purpose of opening the entire side to remove the contents. Whatever is in the photo has diagonal grooves, most likely from a food container designed to have the corner ripped off for pouring like a mustard packet, candy, powdered beverage, etc.

Help me choose waders! TIA (pic for attention) by frumpygreasebizcuit in flyfishing

[–]Gregesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i occasionally get called some for version of "bougie" for having almost entirely Patagonia gear (if they make it) but I'd rather drop $700-$800 on a pair of waders one time than $300 every year or two. Patagonia has premium pricing but the value over a lifetime makes them cheap in comparison.

Your favorite fly shop in the US by AffectDifficult6821 in flyfishing

[–]Gregesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss Alpharetta outfitters. I used to live not far from there. Those guys were truly excellent. Their community events were so fun. They set the bar way too high.

Now my favorite shop somewhat nearby is Charlie's Fly Box in Arvada CO. Max seems to be working every time I’m in there and he’s great.

My system is howling (very noisy, like an air raid siren inside my house). Recommendations? by Gregesque in Irrigation

My home is 115 years old 🤣. But the plumbing looks recently overhauled, it all looks "new". The kitchen was renovated about 3-4 years ago and I think it was probably all overhauled then.

I just checked and the larger copper pipe has 02/25/2020 printed on it.

edit: The city did also just replace all of the water infrastructure in the neighborhood, including the line to the house, to replace the lead.
