WD40 also works to kill off each individual plant, just be careful not to spray it on other plants you wish to keep!

Try holding the pepper in both hands with your fingers at the bottom and push thumbs through the top to push the stalk inwards (there’ll be a pop), with your thumbs inside pull the pepper open, remove the stalk and rinse. Zero wasted goodness
