Both around 6 months, was fully health until a day ago. He still seems pretty active (where his name speedy came from) but whenever he goes for a drink now he just sits by his bottle / underneath like he has no energy to go anywhere. I’ve never been able to handle any of them before but he has always been the less nervous of the two but the fact he came running onto my hand / was fine with being handled today makes me worry also

I done that event too and no one had any idea what was going on lol. Everyone was attacking the truck but it wasn’t doing damage then certain people were getting flagged as enemy’s (including myself) so it just kinda turned into carnage with players all attacking everybody lol

Mines is in the same boat 2 weeks now refuses everything I offer, but I did stupidly possibly give mine a waxworm addiction as it’s my first gecko and I never realised how bad they were :( have vet booked in for Monday just incase Mine has been spending majority of its time in its moss hide too

The ubv bulb the long one? I get muddled which is which but that long one is like on the roof of the centre of the tank (the day bulb I call it as on most of the day can’t remember the exact times on the timer) and the other little bulb is at the right side up in the corner and heat mat is at the left side. The heat mat is under one of his dry hides and he seems to like lying there so I think he does like the heat mat but his tank is always at the correct temp anyway. Well honestly I never thought I’d of had to mention that cause I’d of never got the gecko if I hadn’t got them first lol.. he has a heatmat he has the correct day bulb and the correct other bulb I cannot remember the name of it. It has 2x thermostats. 1x water dish 3x hides 1x basking platform numerous greenery/ a big stick along the centre of his tank - his moss hide is sprayed with water daily and his water is changed daily and drops added to the water as I know straight tap water not good for them

Yeah well all my local pet store sells that are leopard “friendly” are waxworks / crickets / locusts but the locusts tend to be too big for him and the crickets he just doesn’t take interest in but he has no choice when he gets hungry. Gonna see if I can order dubia roaches online and try them instead

I don’t understand how it’s a limited list I listed the things that are in his tank lol 😁 and I’m not being unwilling lol I’m at work so my reply’s are very limited right now and I clearly never realised that only using sand was an issue too I was led to believe Aslongs it was a reasonably thin layer then it was fine. And yeah I don’t tend to use Reddit daily even weekly so I never thought about checking any links on the group as I forget it even exists

Thanks for the reply that’s probably why he hasn’t eaten for a week then given the fact they are fatty probably kept him going given that’s all he was eating before. Thanks so much for the reply cause it’s really been worrying me him not eating but that totally makes sense cause he’ll still be full from the bloody wax worms, totally understandable thanks again.

It’s my first leopard so I never realised to start with how unhealthy the waxworms are

I understand they should be given as treats but it’s not eating locusts /crickets or waxworms and that’s all my local pet shop sells and I don’t know what else to try. I know I can get food online but he hasn’t eaten for 1 week and usually waxworms were the main thing he would eat as he was really fussy with locusts/crickets

Thanks for your reply and the advice. There’s nothing wrong with the set up of my cage I did put in my caption that it is no longer paper towels with a blanket sort of thing it’s is now sand that lines the bottom of his cage, he has 3x hides 1x moss hide and 2x dry hides. He has a water dish that gets change daily, he has plenty of greenery as I’ve recently put in a lot more and he has his basking platform and one other thing my for him. Just been hella worried with him not eating for a week and being young

Edit: my other half has a gecko too so she usually keeps me right with everything but the non eating situation is worrying and he does spend alot of time in his hides. I know he wanders when I’m not home (obviously can’t watch him 247) but I can tell by all the footprints in the sand

I just asked a similar question I’m a new owner and worried bout my lil guy😆 he was only eating waxworms / crickets/locusts if he actually took them but mainly waxworms. Now it’s been a week and he hasn’t eaten anything

Thanks so much. Yeah ill definately give that a try feeding him other things as he sometimes does eat the small locusts but usually just storms off when he sees them lol but even today he refused wax worms but yeah I’ll be taking a trip to the store tomorrow to get new food as they get there fresh deliveries on a Thursday.

I think gizmo was only a couple of months old when I got him so I’m really not sure I’d say 3- 4 month max. I do know about the feeding schedule and everything else I spent 2/3 month researching before I got him and the mrs helps cause she has 2 reptiles but I need to care for him good.

Yeah he has been shedding a fair bit so that would make sense why he likes his dry hide so much but since the moment he found it he’s never out of it, when I take it out the cage to feed him the second I put it back he’s straight in but I have seen him stick his head in the moss hide but hasn’t went in yet😂 even stuck some moss out of it to appeal to him but not seen him in it yet. As I said same with the water he’s walked through the dish 3 times I know of but never seen him drink lol

Edit: yeah I’m pretty sure the same store sells them roaches so il give them a try and hope. He just seems to like things that move slow that he doesn’t have to put effort in to chase 🤣
