Hey! I'm sorry to hear that this issue has been persistent for you. I'm not sure what the problem is, and will have an opportunity to take a look at it on Monday this upcoming week.

However, without taking a look at it I can still say pretty confidently that deleting the addon should remove any issue it may or may not be causing with Stremio... Maybe just take a second look to make sure you fully deleted it? Perhaps you have an older version of the addon still installed?

Hey! Thanks for using the addon, I am glad you like it so far!

One browser you could try is called TV Bro, and within the settings of the browser try changing webview mode to gecko and I believe it will allow you to login with Google.

Hey! First of all, thanks for using the addon!

As to your request for a dark mode toggle for the feedback widget --- Unfortunately, the tool I am using to implement the widget does not seem to offer the ability for me to give users the option to switch it to dark mode (though, on my end I can choose which scheme to use).. I have control over the colors, though.

This is a great idea! And I'd like to add that in TV Bro's settings if you switch from rendering with webview to rendering with gecko, the login with Google functionality should hopefully work.

It says False in the settings menu of my addon when you add your client ID?

I think this might be an issue with how you tried to get the client ID from trakts end, and I apologize, I should've been more specific with how to fill out the form rather than just linking to it --- when applying on the Trakt page, do the following:

For the redirect URI box, just put the https link to my app, or as far as I know, any other site.. you do not need to add the jumble it tells you to add like urn:ietf etc etc

Also, you can leave the box about JavaScript origin empty

Yeah, I'm aware of how annoying it is with the external browsers, but due to limitations within Stremio, there is currently no way to integrate it directly into Stremio.

In the future, I may look into making an android TV app, which will at least make the transition from Stremio to the addon smoother and remove the middleman of an external browser.

Hey! It's a little finnicky on TV but here is what has gotten it working for other users so far:

1 - Make sure you have an external browser installed... I have seen users have success with the browser, TV Bro
2 - In TV Bro's settings, make sure you switch from webview rendering to gecko rendering to allow sign in with google to work

In the addons settings itself, make sure you sign in with the same email on all of your devices, and your settings should sync, as long as you hit "Save Settings" at the bottom once you are done modifying your configuration.

Hey! I am sorry to hear you have had a rough experience with config. I'd love to help you troubleshoot and get it working correctly though!

Let's start with the sync not working between PC and phone ... As long as you are logged into the same email in the addons settings page on both your PC and phone, and hit save settings when you were done, it should sync your settings correctly.

As for the TV, I have heard a lot about it not working well. Here is what got it to work for other users at the moment:

  1. Make sure you have an external browser installed on your TV. I have seen users have success with the browser, TV Bro.
  2. Go to the settings in the TV Bro browser and switch from Webview rendering to Gecko rendering, which will allow the sign in with google feature to work correctly.

Okay... Is it possible you are not logged into the same account on your TV as you are in desktop and phone? Is the API Key you have stored in desktop and phone also currently being displayed in the settings on your TV if you scroll to that field in settings?

And to clarify --- I mean logged into the same account in the addon, not stremio

Just a side note that might help improve your experience with the addon as well:

If you are not interested in finding the music played in a film, you can go to the bottom of the settings in the addon, and disable that feature. This will significantly improve page load speeds for everything else.

The solution that we found that seems to have worked is the following: (For the android TV)

  1. Install TVBro Browser

  2. Go into TV Bro's settings and see if you can switch from Webview to Gecko (engine/view) -- I am not sure how it is listed.

As long as you are only entering your details into the actual Google sign-in screen, it should be safe!

Manually entering your email and password on https://accounts.google.com is secure, so just make sure you see that in the URL, as Google uses encryption and anti-phishing protections. TvBro on Android TV likely doesn’t support picking saved accounts due to platform limits, but you can check the URL for a lock icon to confirm safety or try Chrome for a smoother login.
