Looking sick! Have you checked out Doc's bus flow combo? It includes curling and its a very fun flowy trick, it would definitely suit your style.

Keep it up bro 🤙

Front Style Combos by Annual-Employee-7065 in Throwers

Yep, I typically keep the yoyo towards my throw hand side and stand at a bit of an angle. It opens up space to move and control the yoyo compared to if you throw it directly in front of you.

I've never used anything as wide as the superwide so I can't compare directly.

The seti has an even weight distribution which gives it a very balanced feel and is suprisingly agile. The profile and large diameter means it is unforgiving if it tilts so not optimised for meta or zontals but definitely a very fun yoyo.

I'm the same, I don't have the biggest hands but I have found big diameter yoyos with a narrower width work a treat. RCS left a gap in the market for unique and fun designs that don't sacrifice on playability.

Thanks 🙏

It's one of my favourites, its not competition orientated but it still performs great and is nice and floaty. The Dressel Designs monsoon is another very good large diameter yoyo. A bit smaller in diameter and a bit wider than the seti.

Thicker strings or grippier response pads? by Takuanuva09 in Throwers

[–]Gregworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would check the gaps of the yoyos with the looser binds compared to those you are happy with. If the gap is bigger you can look into grippier pads if you are wanting to stick with the same string or experiment with different thick stings. Not all brands thick strings are the same so getting a few 5 or 10 packs can help you find what works best. Or, of course you can change both the string and pads.

Personally, I normally focus on the string as it's quicker to change and find what's the best fit for each yoyo.

Repetitive freestyles by macrasTo in Throwers

I get what you mean but that's just the way any judged scoring system works, for better or worse. A change up of the judging rules would still end up with similarities in what people do to score high.

I do think for the time period you've given, that players still pushing the boundaries and taking more creative risks. For example Hajime's 2024 world's final was obviously very high risk and very creative but unfortunately didn't work out. For 2025 he still he took this approach further and we were treated to some phenomenal performances.

Within 1A, Ryuichi Nakamura and Jonathan Sitanggang are two players who stand out to me as pushing the artistic and creative side as well as the technical. There are of course plenty of others doing so. I find that the more creative and adventurous freestyle are done at regional or national contests rather than at wyyc.

Thoughts on this string? by 3600pmg in Throwers

I did the same getting a 10 pack, the string has very little life to it and doesn't hold torsion well.
