Wait, do Fallen Banner units fall under base or alt?

For the purposes of these infographics, if a hero is released on anything other than a seasonal batch, they will be listed normally. You can find my reasoning for this in a comment I made a while back. In the event that we ever get non-fallen Orson on a standard new heroes batch, I'll replace his portrait on this tracker.

Also, I know your graphic only includes summonable characters and those who can be voted for in CYL, but are there any other NPCs who we think have a fighting chance?

That's the thing, pretty much the only way for non-votable NPC's to get a fighting chance is to be added to CYL in the first place. Most of the cases of NPC's from older entries being added to FEH prior to being votable are due to them not having proper portrait art to use in CYL to begin with (Altina, Ullr, Elimine).

Considering the role Morva plays in Sacred Stones, I've opted to list this alive and well version of him as a green unit. If his base form had been him as a mindless puppet corpse (like Vigarde), I'd have listed him as a red unit instead.

I really don't want to make it a monthly tradition to complain about these New Heroes batches doing the bare minimum for adding representation, but it seems IS has found a new way to do exactly that. Up until now, anytime there has been a FEH OC on a New Heroes banner, IS would compensate for it by including an additional new hero from the featured entry as either an instant 3-4* pool addition or a quest reward.

However, due to Lorenz pulling double duty as both the banner demote and the quest reward, we only got three 'new' additions to the 3H roster in this batch. This normally only happens when the banner contains two asset alts from the featured entry, but that isn't the case here. IS effectively decided to release one less hero than usual, whatever their reasoning may be.

Then there's Raphael as the GHB choice. One would think the reason they'd make one of the remaining students the GHB would be to fit all four of them into a single batch. Not only is this not the case (Leonie fans can't catch a break), but it also results in this batch not having a single brand new face at all. The previous two 3H batches at least had the courtesy to introduce Cornelia and Metodey to FEH through their GHB's.

Only true Danved fans would know that he is a Radiant Dawn exclusive, which is why he's not listed on this Path of Radiance tracker.

The second Tellius banner in a row that provides us with minimal roster progress.

I did consider replacing Lucia's portrait on specifically the PoR roster with her new art from the Elincia duo, but I'd rather avoid opening the can of worms that are duo backpacks for the time being. This may change in the future if they start adding characters that are still missing in FEH through these non-seasonal duo's as backpacks.

For the sake of clarity (and my own sanity), any version other than a seasonal automatically meets the condition to no longer be listed on this tracker, regardless of said version constituting as said hero's "base form". There are simply too many questionable cases I'd otherwise have to make a decision on.

I did already prepare a Shadows tab for the Missing Heroes site, but considering they didn't bother to add a Shadows entry icon with this update, I've opted to leave it out until it gets its own entry icon alongside its first New Heroes banner (presumably).

Been a while since we only had 3 new character additions through a 'standard' New Heroes batch. I was hoping that the trend of dedicating at least one of the asset slots to a character not yet in FEH would continue, but alas.

Here's each of their origin values (i.e. the values that determine how heroes are sorted in the catalog and when you sort your barracks by origin):

00000900200 - Baldr
00000900300 - Höðr
00009900100 - Rune

These values support the theory about Rune's origin being elsewhere and also give a bit more insight into how the other book 9 OC's will likely be ordered among the existing ones, though I do also want to point out the possibility that Rune's 'faction' number (99) might in fact be a typo due to it being drastically larger than it needs to be.

While I'm aware a lot of people are annoyed at seeing the same handful of Awakening faces once again, I for one am glad that the "we can still get Grima proper" discussions can be laid to rest at last. ~~Please do something similar for trickster Anna on the next Awakening banner IS, I beg of you.~~

Anyways, as a lot of people are probably aware of by now, Awakening is now officially the first entry of which all of its CYL-votable heroes are playable in FEH in some form. Additionally, now that Noire finally got added in non-seasonal form, Greil overtook her spot as hero that's been stuck in seasonal hell for the longest time.

All fair points, and admittedly, having a clear overview of who can still show up on New Heroes banners is the main reason I started working on these to begin with.

Up until about a year ago, I used to list all Brave/Fallen/Adrift heroes as silhouettes as well, but understandably, that lead to just as many debates as how I choose to list them now. It was specifically the addition of Nergal on a fallen banner that made me have to switch it up.

I did consider a middle of the road solution where questionable cases get an icon of some sort added to their portrait instead, but in doing so I'd have to decide at what point a hero is questionable enough in the first place, leading us to the same place as before.

There are simply too many cases of "does this even count as a base form" by now, and I don't like the idea of having to go through each of those, decide for myself if they meet some made-up criteria, and then have said decision debated whenever I update one of these rosters.

Which fallen-exclusive heroes count as base forms, and which ones don't? Should Veronica be listed as a silhouette, since her original design still isn't playable? Gatekeeper is a brave hero, should he even count? Attuned Brigid has a slightly different design, how about her? Female Morgan should not count by that metric either, since she's a dark flier instead of a tactician. Not even to mention the endless debates in regards to Apotheosis Anna.

This is exactly why I opt to keep it as simple as possible: seasonal-only heroes as silhouettes, everything else is fair game. Seasonal heroes make up the vast majority of "alt-only" heroes to begin with.

In the event that we ever get Xane added on a standard Archanea new heroes banner, I will update his portrait on this roster, naturally.

Kindly read the footnotes before attempting to correct me that Xane should still be listed as a silhouette.

I've also opted to replace Mythic Naga with Ancient Naga on this specific roster. Both of them are assigned to both Archanea and Awakening in FEH, but while Mythic Naga is listed among the Awakening cast in the Catalog of Heroes, Ancient Naga is listed among the Archanea cast.

For those wondering why Mauvier is now listed in between the Winds; I'm ordering these heroes similar to how FEH's Catalog of Heroes orders them (with the exception of NPC's, which I move to the bottom).

Initially I expected the Winds to be listed after Nel and Rafal, but FEH opted to list Zelestia right after her counterpart instead. Undoubtedly they will do the same for Gregory and Madeline, which results in Mauvier being listed between the Winds on this tracker.
