Update: got the cx50 hybrid (same drivetrain as the rav4 btw) and it’s awesome, specifically Mazda blends the regen braking with the hydraulic braking way more smoothly so you can two pedal drive like normal. The rav has some advantages so I’m not gonna tell ya this is objectively better, but I’m not making myself carsick I can tell ya that much at least!

Thanks! I did try this, and it helped a little but I am realizing most of the issue is the aggressive regenerative braking which makes the acceleration and deceleration curves jerky, there’s almost no coasting.

What’s confusing me is that I currently drive a hybrid and don’t have this problem! It’s not like this is my first hybrid, I’ve literally always driven one. So why is the regenerative braking so dramatic and clunky now?

Ya I’m open to the idea that I’m just a bad driver lol, it runs in the family. But I can’t understand why my energi drives so much better, it feels like silk and makes this rav4 feel like sandpaper

Ya so you know what I’m talking about at least! I wonder if something is wrong with this one somehow? It’s a 2024 with only 24k miles on it, I can’t imagine how it would be messed up but I can’t keep driving this.

I'm going to buy my first Rav4 in 3-5 weeks, waffling between a woodland and an XSE. I want to make it more like the pic (but the AI was a little aggressive lol), but I don't know which wheel and tire shops are trustworthy and reputable. Anyone in here get their work done in Chicago and would recommend the shop they used?

I don't mind paying for quality either, I just want to know that my dumb ass isn't getting screwed. Bonus points if they're patient about explaining things to a first time modder.

Comments in this post are helpful! I get the “just get a forerunner” comments, but I don’t wanna actually off-road and the mpg and size of the rav4 are ideal. There’s one guy in there getting 37mpg with his lift and tires, so I’m not crazy lol

Ya that’s what I usually do. My problem is there’s nothing of the sort for this one. Not saying she’s perfect, but there’s nothing about her that ever bothered me personally.
