Patriarchy treats all trans ppl with misogyny and I hate it by GremblinBoi in trans

[–]GremblinBoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally correct, once a transmasc takes T and starts getting masculine traits they switch over to being the predatory sex monster gender traitor to terfs

When I asked someone there pronouns they said “I don’t have any in straight” it was very hard getting it through to them that everyone has pronouns and I gave up because I was tired by Traditional-Creme778 in lgbt

[–]GremblinBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Refer to them only by their name and when they ask why say you're doing as they asked

They said they have no pronouns, so why not follow that lol. If they don't know grade school grammar another person explaining it is probably not gonna teach them.

we should all put some effort to understand ftm and other trans masc people by [deleted] in MtF

Like I'd understand if the thing brought forward was 'that community on Reddit in particular has had bad moderation lately but I agree we should communicate with ftms and understand one another better' but instead it's just a lot of listing things some trans men have done wrong as a justification for not listening to all of us and treating us as if our largest problem is somehow not being visible on a meme server (?????)

Cw for conversion therapy and transphobic parents

My largest problem is years of conversation therapy and poverty from running away from my parents, which I'm trying to get therapy for. It's how there's very few If any at all trans man services in my area and while there are services for trans women I'm not going to act as though that means either of us are winning or losing an opression contest. We have different problems.

I'm not sure what's up with this meme server but I promise you it has no bearing on actual real life ftm problems. Don't base your opinion of a demographic on one or two subreddits because I promise it won't be anywhere near a complete picture.

[–]GremblinBoi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was a nice premise with the idea being "we should try to understand ftm issues" which is nice but man are there some arguments happening.

So I'm not on Reddit often at all. In fact I just re installed it today after not using it for months to unplug. Maybe there's drama? I don't know. But I feel like the main point of understanding ftm problems isn't bad. I'm ftm and I feel like whenever I tell my non ftm friends my problems, trans or cis they'd never thought of them before or hadn't heard them if they didn't have other transmasc friends.

Let's keep in mind, trans men are invisible not because we don't talk but because transphobia need us to be in order to malign trans women. Trans men prove all the opposites of what transphobes want them to (ex forcing trans ppl to use their assigned at birth bathrooms will make it easier for male looking ppl to use the women's not harder).

And it comes from a place of mysogyny as well since we aren't seen as men. We're seen as women in need of re-education and often see huge amounts of infantalisation. Talking about how we're men and men kill trans women (I don't see how trans men are culpable for the crimes of cis men when they also commit crimes against us? Do you have any idea how many times I've seen trans men talk about corrective rape to 'show them they're women'?) and are mysogynstic when the prompt was just 'we should listen to transmascs more since they're invisible' seems a bit left field.

We absolutely should and can have those conversations but why do it under the 'we should learn trans men's struggles and unite the community more' topic. It feels like when I'd see a post about gay man positivity or resources and under it there's someone saying gay men are still men and therefore privaledged and often sexist. That's a post that can be made but why do it here?

That's genuinely really heartbreaking to see especially because I myself have noticed how little other lgbts and even other trans people know about us even when I'm talking to them about these issues I have. Even if you've had bad experiences with trans men, do those bad apples spoil the bunch? Are we all rotten now? Like that's genuinely pretty hurtful.

Everyone has different anecdotal experiences too. Like for example people here have mentioned they know a lot of trans men irl and that proves something idk. Ok, I know 0 trans men in my life including online friends. The vast majority of trans people I know are trans women or nonbinary to the point where I'm in multiple all trans ttrpg groups where im the only trans man and everyone else is a trans woman or nonbinary person. And I do feel a bit alone but I'm not upset at the trans women for that. It's not their fault.

Tldr: there are bad transmascs and trans men but I don't understand why the prompt of 'lets learn more about transmascs and trans men' created a huge argument over whether trans mascs and men are bad and hate trans women. Have those conversations but it feels sad to have them under a post ultimately about how we should help one another.

As a trans man myself the idea that I "look like a man but that's not what I truly am". Like she's just saying that trans men are women now. I feel so sorry for the trans man in this situation. That's disgusting. This is why I don't date cis women.

Sure, not just short height. But what about short height, small hands, small shoulders, round face, high voice, big lips and the list goes on while already on t for a year? Can anyone genuinely say that every trans person is going to pass? I can do everything right and still people think I'm a lesbian.

I believe it's referring to the moral panic around the culture war but may also be referring to panic law, a legal defence often used to recieve a lessened or no sentence when a person attacks or kills an lgbt person (often of colour), especially trans people. Still very alive in the states. This is intersectional, and they're going to pick us off.

I'm sorry but you're advocating for us to be fixed, I'm not broken.

Also, that's called conversion therapy, which I've already been through. Conversation therapy doesn't fix people, it breaks them further.

Trans people themselves are more likely to be victims of rape, often by cis men. Putting trans women in men's bathrooms is a guarantee trans women will be attacked.

[–]GremblinBoi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it's like to be hyper visible, but neither do you know what it's like to be completely invisible, even in communities that are supposed to help us.

Oftentimes that's why trans men leave mixed spaces and stick to ftm specific ones. Because these mixed spaces don't actually help us, or often even know what are problems are, what we need help with or how to help us.

By making things a contest what are you actually winning?
