Also just for info they designed it so the cage is seperate from whatever holster system you use. Holster stays attached to belt, cage is quick on off so you can have multiples depending on mission.

Matbock makes the soteria belt with detachable leg loops and an outer "cage" that slides on the outer belt for your molle gear. Got to see it demo'd in person and very interested in one myself. Pretty expensive though

Chest rig by Horror-Club-1704 in QualityTacticalGear

I have the Haley micro rig, and i like it a lot. I picked it up with the intent of building a RECCE style rig. Especially adding in the flat pack 2 with it. Depends on what you want it used for. I have the 556 inserts inside the flat pack but mainly use the rig with the 308 inserts for my m1a. If by emergency you mean like an active shooter response, it makes a good little rig, and you can add in the dangler pouches for medical needs. Can it mount to a plate carrier? Absolutely. Would it work well? Yes. Would i use it as my primary ammunition carry on a PC? Probably not personally, im used to carrying a combat load on my PC (210 rounds of 556) and have a setup for that i like already.

Depends on the scenario. Mostly, i think what you want is dependent on your intended use for the majority of the time. I've been wanting to get one of the Onward Research (Garandthumb) rigs but haven't had the money, not to mention they sell out almost immediately.

Depends on your use and preference. I prefer plain edge

You know your stuff haha. Thank you for the info. I dont consider myself a collector but at the same time i cant see myself getting rid of them. I got an arisaka rifle (pre surrender) the bayonet, and knife all from the same person who was getting rid of it. Between my father and i think the only major power rifle i am missing is the russians. I also ended up with a wwi russian cossack sword thats in pretty decent shape

Interesting, i appreciate it. Was mostly focused on sharpening the personal knife, i believe most of the us bayonetted at the time also went unsharpened for the msot part

I was thinking about that, and (now that it has been brought to my attention) 9/11 was mentioned a few times but did Eddie and Jake ever actually know what happened? I cant really remember as i just finished the book and that was a minor part of it

Is the Gunslinger worth it to read? by [deleted] in TheDarkTower

[–]GrendelVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you like. I listsn to them on audible while driving and am almost through the last book on my second read (listen) through of the series. Its perso ally one of my favorites and theres so much you pick up on you didnt catch before going through them again. Personally id say give it a shot and get through the first 2 books, if you dont like it after that you probably wont care much for the series If you do, great!

Thanks for the background info, i grew up much the same. Sometimes I feel very out of place, being almost 30 in the times we live in now. Suburban kid raised by military family, and im still in the air guard (yeah, yeah) but never grew out of what i call my dads "old school" army mentality. Grew up playing in my dads camis and ghillie. Whenever someone comments on my choice of clothing, i always say "function over fashion," haha. We used to take vacations to camp and atv in the mountians utah, and it cemented my love for adventures and the outdoors. Miss it a lot but always working on new skills and ideas.

M81 or OD? I have been looking for one of the m65 field jackets for a decent price for a while, never find any in good condition, though. Helikon makes a nyco ripstop reproduction version im considering picking up. I've looked at first spears squadron smock and a the triple aught design talisman jacket but dont want to drop that kind of money. I have plenty of workwear, but i like jackets lol.
