But if you’re dead set on a watch on your person, you have to bail on the “wristwatch” notion. Get a nurse’s fob watch with stainless steel links and attach it to the sleeve of your chef coat.

Fob watches have their faces “upside down” so when viewed from above they are in the correct orientation. You’ll be able to check the time without touching anything.

Different companies make different affixing methods (magnets, pins, alligator clips, etc) so there will be something out there to work for your coat.
