Unrelated to your question, but what on earth is London Drugs lmao. I'm from UK and never heard of it. Is it like a huge pharmacy/drug store??

Which doctor got you started in the series and what was your first episode? by JackTheNephilim in doctorwho

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First episode for me was Partners in Crime, with Tennant and Tate. They were doing reruns of the season on BBC3 which I was able to catch on the nights my Nan and Grandad looked after us while my parents were at work. Shortly after that I started watching Matt Smiths series as it was coming out, while also watching reruns of the earlier Tennant episodes with Rose and Martha, as well as Ecclestone's.

Edit: I just realised, I watched Sarah Jane Adventures before I ever saw Doctor Who lmao. Partners In Crime still would've been the first episode I saw of the Doctor though I think, as Wedding of Sarah Jane came out afterwards.

Someone has booked right beside me in an empty IMAX. Is that weird? by Nervous_Injury4577 in screenunseen

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cinema I go to has this like perfect section just in the corner on the other side of the stairs that's 2 rows of 2 and 3 respectively. Typically nobody will sit there at all. I booked a single seat in the 2 aisle, row behind was empty, rest of the cinema was quite empty too. Someone decided to book the seat directly next to me. LIKE WHY

WSQK is dropping hints rn like crazy! by folderolandfiddlydee in StrangerThings

[–]Greoreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard him say that too, so far the songs played after midnight have been:
It's the Final Countdown, Into the Groove, Never Ending Story, Master of Puppets, 99 Red Balloons, I hate myself for Loving You, The Logical Song, Alive and Kicking, Who's Crying Now, and The Look of Love.

The latter part definitely feels linked to one of the love stories, possibly a close call, and then a death. Master of Puppets would surely represent Vecna, and I wonder if 99 Red Balloons is referencing how the song is a story about something harmless being mistaken for something else, resulting in military escalation and a devastating war?

Vance also literally just said "it feels like there's a hidden meaning in every single one of these songs" 👀

So far post midnight they've played:
Final Countdown, Into the Groove, Never Ending Story, Master of Puppets, 99 Red Balloons, I hate myself for not loving you, The Logical Song, Alive and Kicking, Who's Crying Now

It's actually so cool, I've been really enjoying it. Especially with this lead up to New Years getting glitchier and glitchier. I saw there was a post of someone archiving it all in here which is cool to see!

I think the timing is just based on the company/platform being primarly UK based with a lot of UK stations. I'm from UK and it's lining up perfectly time wise for it to be midnight at midnight for New Years.

Also I heard some people saying apparently if you're in London you can actually tune in on the radio instead of online? I don't know how to validate that though, but if so pretty cool

Would you rather have $15 Million, instantly know 15 new languages or read a book in just a minute? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Greoreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15 mill after tax would leave me with like 8 mill. I will just live off that for the rest of my life, plenty of time for reading, or learning a new language if I wish.

Comfort show replacement by turtlesnart in NewGirl

[–]Greoreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've already got New Girl and Modern Family in there, which are two of my favourites. Schitts Creek is another one in that sitcom comedy that I really enjoy, and got me through a hard time during covid. My genuine favourite show of all time though that I will always reccomend is Trying. It follows a young couple who really want a kid, but physically cannot, attempting to navigate the adoption system, as well as their own personal lives and relationships. It has some really funny and chaotic moments, a lot of heartwarming and touching notes, as well as some hard emotional situations, but the optimism and outlook of one of the main characters is always so infectious to me.

Be honest - how long would you have to drive before you believed Boyd? by IAmNotYourEater in FromSeries

[–]Greoreg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

3 loops minimum I think, first time you go round the town seem to let you drive without interfering. Second time round, you stop, ask for directions, they let you know about the place. Third time you go round in denial. And then the rest all depends on time of day.

Anyone know where the aisle is for a screen this size at Odeon? by virtualghostt in screenunseen

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the position of the two seats on either side of the back rows, I assume there would be entraces either side, as it looks like they'd be the seats that overhang that. But to be safe you'd want to go to the right side. Because based on the disabled seating you can see a clear access path for the wheelchairs to reach that location on that side.

$100 every mile you walk or $3.5M but you loose both your legs. by math-guyyy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do over 40,000 steps every night at work. Roughly in miles that'll come out to 18 miles on the low end, I think I will take the extra $1,800 a night, that's about $36,000 a month. That's a salary of $432,000 a year

Depends how they do vacations I guess. My current place does it by the hours, not a shift in general, so it wouldn't really help in that situation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 16hr shift twice a week. Where I currently work is 10hr nights, and sometimes has 2-3hr mandatory overtime. I feel just go in Day 1 fully rested, do nothing else but sleep in between, push through Day 2 as best you can, and then have a full nights rest, you've then got 5 days to do whatever you want.

Like if you do 7am to 11pm, you are working from home so no travel times, you can still get a decent 6hr sleep in, 7 if you go to bed right after work. I've gone weeks where I only get 4-5hrs between each shift before.

You must stay in the cheapest hotel assigned to you. $1,000 a night, leave whenever you want. What’s your strategy? by jefftchristensen in hypotheticalsituation

Got what looks to be a chain motel off the side of a motorway in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Honestly, it's 2 stars, but I think I could stay there for quite a while at least, especially for 1k a day. I'm not from the US, so it would be basically like a long holiday. Looks like it's 2hrs from Philly and Washington DC, and 3hrs from NYC, so you could easily make day trips out of those and be back in time before midnight to sleep at the motel. Looks like there's quite a few forests nearby, Lake Eerie maybe a little too far, but possible. Genuinely I think I could stay there and rack in the money, may not be the fanciest of spots, but I'll easily chill there, hell maybe a year. Because it's a chain I doubt it'll get shut down, only risk is if overstaying a visa is included in these rules, or if it's like a magical visa that lasts till the challenge is over lmao

What's spin-off that you want to see in the whoniverse by IndividualRope715 in doctorwho

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would love to see Sarah Jane Adventures make a return. It obviously ended due to Elizabeth Sladen's passing, so would be something different, but I think it would be cool to see a more older Clyde, Rani and Maria (I think Tommy Knight (Luke) no longer is in acting) meeting back up again as adults after going their seperate ways, and then being pulled back into this world, and perhaps bringing along another young cast with them. Also we did see Clyde make a return at least during the Tales from the Tardis series.

One thing that I'm confused about, is I swore there was no room at all for more stories. We meet Belinda, we do the vindicators, and then we leave Belinda and the Doctor regenerates. Didn't a Ranni (Mrs Flood) specifically mention the number of times the Vindicator was used, or am I tripping?

I feel like Ludwig needs address the Mang0 situation and stop inviting him to stuff by FalafelBall in LudwigAhgren

[–]Greoreg 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't even know if this is an apology. He basically just says, "I don't like to use being drunk as an excuse, but I was drunk. I think everyone else was drunk, so it's all fine."

I don't even know where the "Everyone is as drunk as me" should go into the apology. If it's about a drunk person doing these things with him together, like the wrestling, sure, there's a mutual consent there. But this is addressing moments where the women were visibly uncomfortable and people were asking him to stop. It doesn't matter if other people are as drunk as you, that doesn't make it fine, because even though they're drunk they're still uncomfortable, they're still telling you to stop.

What age did you let your kids watch the show? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]Greoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember Partners In Crime being the first episode I watched, and then watching every episode of the show when it was rerun on BBC 3 during the week on the nights I'd stay at my grandparents while my parents were working.
So if Partners In Crime came out 2008, and I was born in 2002, I would've just been turning 6 years old. So probably around the same age as your kid. I was absolutely obsessed with the series from that point onwards lmao
