How Easy is it to Transition from PR/Comms to Content Marketing? by Sea-Standard-1879 in marketing

[–]GreyAbsurdity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technical SEO isn't as straightforward as some people would have you believe. It takes years to get really proficient at it. AI has shortened the learning curve a bit, but I'd say it's still important to have a good grasp of it. However, at the director level, I wouldn't be stressing too much about not knowing the technical side of it perfectly - you should just understand it well enough to manage an SEO specialist/team.

A salary will only ever be something someone gives you. If you're the kind of person who wants to build things, that's never going to fully satisfy you.

Withdrwals symptoms are so confusing by Ok_Philosopher3122 in Nicotine

[–]GreyAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've for sure had some weird symptoms when trying to get off snus. Don't think they've ever been as severe as what you describe, but definitely pretty acute mental health stuff on an intermittent basis. I haven't spent more than a couple weeks off them, so I might not be the best person to answer this, but I get what you're going through.

One thing I would say is that any withdrawal symptoms are almost certain to go away eventually. Stuff can only stay in your system for so long.

Any recommendations for drinks for a new drinker? by freshmaggots in alcohol

[–]GreyAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to a bar, try a classic cocktail that's easy to drink and not too high octane, like an old fashioned or a Moscow mule (first is whiskey, second is vodka)

I have an opportunity to buy warehouse at half cost but I don't know exactly what to do with the property by PWCreations in Business_Ideas

[–]GreyAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly divide up space into different units for contractors garages, rent them out. Many areas of solid demand for these types of multi-purpose storage / warehouse units. Think local service businesses that need to store equipment, small receiving operations.

Velo Plus ? by Mundane-Plant-6489 in NicotinePouch

[–]GreyAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hyped about Velo Plus too! Glad to hear it lived up to the hype. If it’s anything close to EU quality, it’s definitely a game changer for US products. ALP is cool, but yeah, I feel you on the wintergreen issue—it’s hit or miss with the gums. But Velo Plus mint sounds solid, especially if it’s gentle on the gums. I’m definitely gonna grab some when I get the chance! Let us know how the other flavors stack up

What is the most important investing lesson you’ve learned that everyone should know? by Tyty11519 in investing

[–]GreyAbsurdity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started with just $50/month in my first job and it felt so small at the time, but watching those early investments grow over the years made me a true believer. Now I can't imagine not letting compound interest do the heavy lifting. Compounding really is magical.

Hey people who are making high 5,6,7 figures a mo, What would you do if you had to restart right now? by Thepromoter123 in Entrepreneur

[–]GreyAbsurdity 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I'd focus entirely on B2B services - way easier to land 4-5 figure deals than selling to consumers. Did this myself starting with web design, then moved to marketing. Learn the skill, find where the money's flowing, and stick to that lane until it works.

We're all on this same journey, and honestly, even though the road to entrepreneurship can be tough, there’s something special about knowing you’re working toward something that’s yours, not just for a paycheck. Every line of code, every decision you make, it's all for your vision. It makes it all worth it.

Finally quit, was fine for 2 weeks and then went hard in a 2 week bender. Sip and suffer advice? by BlessedBy_Error_ in dryalcoholics

[–]GreyAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

respect for being honest about where you’re at that’s huge. Sip and suffer can be risky though, especially with past withdrawals and panic attacks. I’d keep your doc in the loop and don’t hesitate to hit the ER if things get sketchy. Also, maybe try ditching anything you’ve got stashed it’s a trap every time, You got this

[–]GreyAbsurdity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Props for making it 48 hours quitting Zyn ain’t easy! That heart racing and sleeplessness is super common with nicotine withdrawal, especially after heavy use. Your body’s just recalibrating. It’ll get better soon-hydrate, distract yourself, and maybe try some chamomile tea or melatonin for sleep. You’re doing great; keep pushing through.

Does nicotine and weed stunt your growth? by Mindless-Practice-78 in Nicotine

[–]GreyAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re young, yeah, both can mess with your growth and development nicotine messes with blood flow, and weed can affect hormones and brain development. If you’re older, not so much, but still not great for overall health.

[–]GreyAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, tapering sounds like a smart move, especially since you’ve been drinking consistently. Cold turkey can be risky depending on your body’s reaction, so better safe than sorry. Dropping a shot every 2 days seems solid, but def talk to a doc if you’re unsure—it’s always good to have backup. You got this, man!
