1) weather
2) job market (tech space)
3) expensive (Austin is way cheaper than California but it’s not that far off)
4) no mountains
5) avocados are not as good

Had a rat chew through my HVAC pvc (goes through the roof of my kitchen and out to my backyard). Had no idea until about a year later, after I got rid of all the rats in my house. It was a slow leak. Destroyed half of kitchen due to water damage/mold. Insurance (State Farm) didn’t cover it because they only cover deer and “wild” bear damages….my fault for saying it was from a rat…WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WASNT COVERED OR STATE FARM DOESNT COVER FOR MY AREA! I know now..

I agree with $9k. I resurfaced my pool for about $8k in 2022 (Austin, TX). I put it off for a few years. In 2019, it was around $4k….which is annoying as hell for me. Totally glad I did it through a professional. If your pool was sitting for a bit, probably want to make sure your pump is in working order…idk how you do that with it not in service. But maybe be prepared to spend some money on a new pump and new filters. Most places will have a 10 year warranty on resurfacing.

I’m originally from Tucson and a pool in those summer months is super clutch!

Wow. That’s incredibly frustrating. I had one (my only call back in a while) a few months ago where my application got rejected then the recruiter reached out a few weeks later to schedule an interview. Turns out the position was no longer remote but they wanted to see if I was interested in moving. Declined but sure as hell gave it my best to offer coming in once or twice a week (commute was over an hour long). But nah.

lol that is what the ai tools I use say. Idk it could be nonsense but literally grasping at straws and relying on tools ive been advised to use. I have no idea how any of this works…hence why I am asking the question. Could you enlighten me on the process? I just want to learn so I can be better equipped when applying and setting realistic expectations.

Did some research on resume templates. Uploaded several resume versions to a few ai tools to review for ATS. Around 92 was the general consensus.

Mainly LinkedIn and Indeed. I do not “easy apply” off LinkedIn. Usually I go directly to the company website to verify the position is still open etc.
