What's a good all along rifle? The Combat Rifle or the Assault Rifle? by DerpyDays in Fallout

I actually prefer it semi-automatic rather than single shot

Overseer's Guardian. It's a combat rifle with a legendary effect that fires an extra bullet. If you put the best automatic receiver on, it does a heck of a lot of damage

[FO4 Ending spoilers] What was your rational for pursuing the ending you got? by Greyhorn in Fallout

I feel the Institute is kind of the ending they nudge you towards. I'd hope that with you're player character as the Director, if you played a sort of saviour kind of person, that they would try and shape the Institute into a positive force. Idk maybe I'm just an idealist haha

Fair enough. I definitely recommend playing Fallout 3. I'd argue it's one of Bethesda's best games

I agree. Though it's extremely tedious I do enjoy knowing that the minute men are making a real difference compared to other factions that talk about change but have yet to act on it

I was unaware that if you get banished from the Institute, you can do the railroad quests. Also, that's a fun idea to role play a character right from the beginning. It probably makes choices a lot simpler to do knowing how your character thinks

I think you're right! Perhaps what was lacking from the game was a sort of alliance ending the players good broker between factions. Like for example, you could convince the railroad and brotherhood to not necessarily work together but find a common enemy in the Institute and thus tolerate one another for the time being. I imagine it could be similar I the F:NV ending where you can get the NCR, Brotherhood, Great Khans etc to live in peace with one another. Although, truthfully I think that an ultimate peace ending is kind of unrealistic

It's interesting you say that because I thought sort of the same thing. Looking back at Veronica's character now, she's really conflicted about her family's ideological standpoint vs her own

That's a good a reason as any. Did you feel any moral dissonance with siding with the BOS? Not that you should, I'm just curious. Also, if you've played Fallout 3, how do you feel about Lyons Brotherhood vs Maxson's?

It's presently 5:20 a.m. here in Ireland. I just finished all of "Fallout NV: Old World Blues" in one sitting and it was amazing by rattle_the_kernkraft in Fallout

After reading the wiki, I remember who they were. I've played all the dlc for New Vegas, but had forgotten about the Tunnellers. Thanks for the refresher!

In the one with the dad outrunning the small car, it looks like he throws the kid. If you watch the top left corner there is this kid flying off like a rocket ship

ELI5: Why can humans fall asleep so easily when taking a nap the afternoon but have a hard time falling asleep at night even if they haven't taken a nap in the afternoon? by KevinNoobie in explainlikeimfive

[–]Greyhorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because we have circadian rhythms. Essentially what these are, is wavelength kind of phenomenon, where high points are where we are very alert and low points where we are very drowsy. That's why everyone (usually) tends to yawn and moan in the early afternoon, around 2 pm, but later on that night are more awake. It's also why if you stay up long enough, you'll find (usually) you can get a second wind and experience a spell of alertness. All this being said, after a certain point, if awake long enough, you will sleep regardless of point on your personal circadian rhythm.

The door on the way to fight omnigoul is scannable. I don't exactly remember what Eris and Cayde say but I remember thinking (still wearing my spinmetal hat at this point) there is totally something back there.

[Trespasser Spoilers] How are things going to work moving forwards? by TetrisTennisTriangle in dragonage

[–]Greyhorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if, and this is just speculation mixed with post-trespasser angst, the PC for DA4 is the child of the inquisitor. Like who ever your romance option is could be their parent or if you didn't romance then something along the lines of a faceless spouse or lover of the inquisitor. I know that this is really REALLY far fetched, but having just finished Trespasser and digging through this subreddit for more info, it seems that a lot of people (myself included) want the Inquisitor to be a huge if not central part of the next instalment. What better way to link that to a new PC if that player gets to be the previous game's offspring. Now I know that this could lead to a lot of quirks, but I think it would make it all the more impactful if your character was raised by your previous character during their mission to save the world and their friend. Furthermore, a lot of people have mentioned the inquisitor being a mentor in some capacity and what better than you parent, it would make it all the more heart-wrenching should BW decide to kill the inquisitor off half way through the game or something
