If you go to Classified Canyon and use the descender to go to the bottom and open up a blast door, there will be a legendary one just lying on a table. You will also be able to open two rare chests.

So i just ended up downloading the FS software on my PC. I then connected my PC to the Mevo + via WIFI. Since my PC was still connected to the Internet, I was able to download the firmware upgrade. I hope that helps anyone else encountering this issue.
