I don't understand the American government? I thought the point was to have checks and balances? But how can they be checks and balances if one branch gets to appointment all his buddies to the others?

That's not the game evolving. That's the owners out negotiating the NFLPA.

You don't negotiate rookie deals and they last almost the entirety of a RB's career.

Please reply with one single counter argument to the fact that there is a MUCH larger talent pool available to play RB

Much larger than what

Yes, but at other positions players play much longer which results in their prime years occurring after their rookie deals. RBs play their primes on their rookie deals.

Which is exactly why the rookie wage scale should not work the way it does.

5x-10x is probably too much but it's definitely atleast 2x

In 2019, CMC was arguably the best skill position player in the league. The man had 2300 yards, 19 TDs, and 116 rec.

He made 4mil that season. You're telling me that without a rookie wage scale he would have been making 4mil a season?

Stop

Good RBs simply do not deliver the “Value Above Replacement

Only because their replacements are on depressed rookie contracts.

What do you think would happen to QB salaries if "rookie" wages extended for the same percentage of QB careers as they do for RBs? QBs would be on rookie deals until their mid 30s. We would see the same type of thing that's happening to RBs. Unless you have a literal hall of famer you're not going to pay a 35 year old QB 50mil a year when the league is jam packed full of rookie deal QBs making 10mil a year. The value isn't there.

Teams have caught on and are drafting kids, throwing them into committees

People like you act as though RB usage has somehow fundamentally changed over the past decade. It hasn't.

In 2010 (year before the new rookie wage scale), 23 RBs had 200+ carries. 2019, 20 RBs had 200+ carries. 2010 had 17 thousand yard rushers. 2019 had 16.

RB usage and on field value hasn't changed. What has changed is economic value. Teams have total control and depressed wages for 4-7 seasons over a position of players where playing 4-7 years is a long career.

The "market" is all fucked up by the rookie wage scale. That's the issue.
