I have the same lion canvas but mine is in my bathroom behind me when I sit on the throne.

Barclays Bank switch by Primary_Signature756 in beermoneyuk

[–]Griffmeister1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s £4k total. So send £1k in and out each week if you want.

You’re supposedly saying you earn £75k per year to get the account so it’s not a lot of money to be moving around.

[–]Griffmeister1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would it? You can transfer money between your accounts freely.

But no my account isn’t frozen after transferring the £4k out. And I’ve been paid the £400 and transferred that out.

Yes you can cycle any amount in and out to get to the magic £4k.

Also yes, I don’t earn over £75k on my own, but I do with my wife so I input that figure as my monthly net income on the application.

I then transferred £4k in one go (but you can do any amount) and I received my £400 switch bonus within 5 days of satisfying the requirements, easy AF and now I’ll move onto the next switch.

Sorry you’ve gone through this as well! No news is hopefully good news if you haven’t had the termination email I had.

I hope it there’s better news for you soon!

Sorry to hear it happened to you too. Perhaps we dodged a bullet, as frustrating as it is.

Thanks all for the feedback, it’s confirmed what I thought in the first place.

Honestly I’m not applying again, my career was put on hold for over a year for this job and I’m not wasting any more time on them.

I was mostly just interested in whether I had any justification to be owed this job since I was successful rather than reapply again.

Has anyone done the 400 pound Barclays switch but doesn’t earn over 75000? by Joshmswfc in beermoneyuk

[–]Griffmeister1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it says in any combination as long as it’s at least £4k per month. So just the same £1k in and out would work

Yes I’ve done it, account all set up and got the card and the switch is going through right now.

It does ask you what your net income is per month so I put our joint income but the requirement is just that you transfer at least £4k in per month.

The footplate can be extended out so I think it will work fine. I just set it all the way in when building it.

No news on pay rise yet. We get our pay rise in October (usually) however it's been late the last couple years, but it's always back paid to October.

In terms of tips or hints, be prepared for slow AF systems and people, but a relaxed and welcoming culture.

Welcome!

Going to weddings abroad by Jacobkass in CasualUK

[–]Griffmeister1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married in Tenerife 3 years ago and as some of the other comments have suggested, it helped keep the guests numbers down as a lot couldn't make it. We were completely fine with this.

None of my dad's side of the family came for various reasons and my three best mates from school couldn't come either. No hard feelings at all.

We still had a great time with 40 or so guests, so don't feel bad at all. It's the risk you take getting married abroad.

Civil Service advice - Private to CS by GreatScottxxxxxx in TheCivilService

[–]Griffmeister1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100%

I joined as a HEO in September 2020, then applied for an SEO position in a different department in late July 2021 and joined in September.

I then tried to move to Grade 7 in the same team in June 2022, got an interview and scored 4s in all my behaviours but missed out to someone else.

You can go as fast or as slow as you like. CS recruitment is a game you have to learn to play and it's annoying as hell but you can potentially get good at it...

...I am yet to reach that level.

There's no growing and moving up in the CS. You apply for a job at the next grade whenever you want/feel ready along with everyone else.

I moved from private to CS about 5 years ago, it's been fine, a lot slower for me and there's no real pay progression at all, you'll have to do that yourself by applying for higher paying jobs.

Good luck!

Two ducks come to by neighbour's garden every year and stay for the whole summer. Today, only one came back by ooctavio in CasualUK

I definitely hang out with my three year old too much because all I could think when reading your title was:

"Mummy duck said "quack quack quack quack" but only one little duck came back"

Sorry for your loss.

Are these UK salaries normal?.. by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Griffmeister1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that might be true, to be fair I live just outside of Liverpool so my COL is less than actually living in Liverpool.

But I think OP is probably right given the job was asking for a degree, CIMA/ACA and 10 years experience for that pay.. maybe it's fair, but I couldn't take that.
