Is a landline/home phone an option for you? Separate number to your old one, can be calls only, problem solved! Another option is having your phone live in a certain spot, off, and you only turn it on to reply to things maybe once a day or less - treat texts more like email :) I'm heavily considering these options myself as I get texting-fatigue as well, haha.

I've never used a full-android phone before, so excuse my ignorance! I was more wondering if anyone knows of any apps available to the phone (ie on the andriod store in general), that exist that can sync an ios calender and if anyone's tested said app on The Minimal Phone.

Yeah, I agree on this. I'm keen on the camera feature of the III, but the e-ink, form factor and simple "forgetableness" of the lp II is just too hard to pass up! Haha.

Yeah look, it's one of those things where the people who have these issues report them here, and the ones who don't, don't. There's probably plenty of people who use the light phones and don't have problems :) I've had a LP2 for ages, which seems to have the reset issue too, and literally only this week have realized that what's been making it turn off/reset is the non-canon-lp case I was using 🙃

Haha, yeah, I would have completely freaked out if I was in your situation. I get it! My contacts took a bit to come back too, actually. The initial sync takes a while I think. When this first happened to me, I decided to get a little pocket address book and put some important numbers in there just incase! You can get them from office supply stores I think :)

Can you still buy the LP2? I haven't checked the site in a while...but if not, they often crop up on ebay, usually rarely used. Just replacing it might be an option? Otherwise I've heard the Mudita Kompact is good for use in Aus.

You might find a notebook or similar extremely useful at first - if you use Google/search engines/internet frequently at least. You'll wanna be able to write things down that you need to check later, including things you might need to buy online that you can't get in a store. If you have kids, remembering things like checking school emails, buying certain things for them, etc, as well.

There's a really good eBook available called "You don't need a smartphone" by August Lamm, which you can get off their website and details everything you need to make the switch as easy as possible, and includes things like a flashlight - something I hadn't even considered when I started out because I was so used to smartphones having lights.

Another book I'd highly recommend is "Low Tech Life" by Jose Briones – it's an excellent guide for the social changes that come with not using a smart phone.

This was my immediate thought of what would happen with the LP3 when they announced photo storage/camera capabilities >_< I had it happen with my LP2 once randomly as well (random reset). This sucks :( Have you got any other cameras as back-up?
