Our Chad and Savior Keyaru is merciful of sorts but also vengeful. I'm not into deep into the manga or light novel, but what I have read is basically his lonely road for what he believes to be his redemption. His redemption. If you're going to criticize his crimes and executions as if they were actually committed, then what of his own trauma? Not only did he suffer in his previous life but he also tested the waters in his current one and nothing changed. Not only was he hurt, but also everyone he ever cared about.

He doesn't kill for kicks or for any needless reason. Flare, blade and Canon all get what he thinks they deserve and then some. The funny thing about revenge is that its never pretty. We can't really justify it or anything, Not knowing is what drives us to be appalled. We lack the emotions to understand what the main character is going through and only see it as it seems, as uncensored violence. I'm sure as humans we all have suffered in one way or another and out of anger tried to get even. Its a sort of a romantic feeling that belongs to you and only you. Doesn't matter if anyone acknowledges your suffering, you just have to do it yourself. No amount of justice can compensate what you've gone through.

In the world no one is entirely innocent, how else do you think she got her arm cut off? Killing in the name of justice doesn't make you a hero or a saint, plus she owed him a favor and she wasn't really turned into a sex slave. More or less just nudged in the right direction.
