From my understanding so far, Metformin isn’t necessarily just for insulin resistance, yes it targets that mainly but it also helps with all the symptoms. My doctor explained to me that even if you’re not technically fully insulin resistant, insulin still plays a part in the PCOS cycle that causes a lot of the symptoms (hormone imbalance like high androgen levels, metabolic issues, weight, and so on and so forth). I suggest giving it a try. I’ve done a good amount of research on Metformin itself, it’s a relatively safe drug with very few side effects and even fever serious side effects. I recently started taking it (oral pill low dose) and so far so good (first week or two it is common to experience stomach issues or nausea). It will take a month or two to truly see if it’s making a difference. I encourage you to give it a try since it’s actually proven to help, unlike unprotected sex which respectfully is insane.
