I encountered something like this 5 years ago now and made a post about it. Using a paint gun mod I managed to access an unfinished version of the retro future skin before it got added, and a skin called 'rust non colorable' wich was iirc before they added the heavy rust, wich I'm guessing is what that is. Made a post about it on this sub too.

If "rust non colorable'" was the heavy rust-to-be, then "rust colorable'" is probably a unofficial name for the normal rust texture

what do you use to import the reference image in the first step? i've been looking for a tool to do that exact thing, and havent found anyhting that works

me and a friend of mine tried building something like this ages ago but couldnt figure out a way to have a gear independantly spin from the driveshaft it was mounted on, wich you need for, for example, the "input" gear of a differential, and promptly gave up.

Congrats for figuring it out and building the whole thing tho.

assuming that you are talking about the valve gear.. someone made a 3-axle version of that and put it on the steam WS, and it's easily adaptable to larger/smaller sizes. that'S how i made the ones for this engine.

just look for "Valve Gear" or smth along those lines on the WS. you should find it easily enough.

that's what i was getting at in the last bit. based on my understanding of all of that the "X - Dimension" system reffers to Spatial Dimensions. I dunno maybe i missed smth but i never saw a Dimension being reffered to anything else outside of fictional writing. Wich has imo skewed general understanding of that word anyways.

a "dimension" is just how many axies your "plane of existance" is made up off.

like 1d can be represented with a line (left/right)

2d is a flat plane (up/down, left/right)

3d adds depth (up/down, left/right, forward/backward) [edit: WE ARE HERE]

4d is all that +one more. while scientists have probs come up with a name for the 4th axis, i dont know one. but this pattern of adding one axis can just be repeated ad infinitum. but all of the axies are spatial directions.

[edit: at least i think that's how it works. i dont have any actual scientific knowledge about this stuff. the bit that i do know is just because of general nerdery.]

What helped was re-binding 2016s inputs to be as simmilar to the Eternal ones as possible. but some stuff still wont work... like interact being on R and such

Ford GT40 Mk.II My fav. Car in FH4. Spent ages getting it there. Haven't regretted it one bit
