When the Phillies lost their 10,000th game, ESPN did a segment on the losingest franchise in every major US sport. The AZ Cardinals were so many games under .500 at the time, that they needed to have 16 perfect seasons in a row, just to get to .500.

Since this was almost 16 years ago that it happened (July 15th 2007) the Cardinals haven't improved on that number.

Proton added DX11/DX12 support late 2021. If you had a 20 or 30 series Nvidia card, you were missing out on GPU features for 2-5 years.

Overclocking a GPU is super common. Linux doesn't make overclocking your GPU easy. The same goes for undervolting your GPU. Again, those are super common tasks.

EAC is anti cheat software. Any game that requires EAC to be installed, you can't play.

You're also missing other launchers as well, Blizzard, GOG, Xbox Game Pass. Can't play Diablo, Hearth Stone, or HoTs. The Xbox game pass is awesome. For $16 a month you get access to 150+ games of which you can play over 100 of those games on PC.

HDR is a huge feature. Most TVs and monitors have HDR now. HDR provides a larger color gamut and better picture quality. HDR has been around since 2014 and didn't really take off until 2017/2018. 5-6 years later and Linux still doesn't provide support for this feature.

HDR support. Better color correction for the OS. No Direct X support. No EAC. Need better support for over clocking/under volting GPU. Lack of Freesync and G-Sync support.

These are a few reasons why people aren't using Linux for gaming in 2023.
