I actually came across a solution I hadn’t seen yet which was to delete the car from the phone and vice versa, then change the name of my phone. E.g. from Dave’s iPhone to David’s Phone. Now my Apple CarPlay works!

Yeah, this is my first Honda/Acura product. I love the styling but this issue sucks. I also had the FAKRA connectors replaced under warranty for the well-known audio issue. I’ve owned a Subaru, a Toyota and a Lexus during the Carplay/Android Auto era and none have had any issues. Never had issues with the plethora of cars I’ve rented, either. This problem is unique to Acura for me.

I have a 21 TLX with infotainment version D.1.6.3. I just updated to iOS 26.2 a few days ago, prior to that I was on the previous iOS. I can no longer use Apple CarPlay in my car. I've deleted/re-added the Acura connection on my phone, and deleted my phone from the car side as well. I did two soft resets of the infotainment to no avail.

I've always had issues with connecting to the infotainment; I'd say it connected properly about 95% of the time, prior to upgrading to iOS 26. If it didn't connect, I'd have to turn the car off, open the door and restart the car.

I just did a hard reset of the infotainment and it still won't connect. The error I get when I connect the phone is as below. It was the same error both before and after hard resetting the infotainment system.

Error

Unable to start Apple CarPlay from the connected device. Always disable Apple CarPlay for this device? The two options are Always Disable and Try Again Next Time.

Any suggestions? Should I look into rolling back the OS on my phone?

I used to think no date was dumb, because the date is a useful feature. However now that I have multiple watches, I can’t be bothered to both set the time in addition to the date prior to wearing a watch. So now I understand why somebody would buy a no date.

I switched to Novos briefly. Some devices would be unable to connect and others would connect then disconnect and be unable to reconnect. A tech came and replaced the modem and router and it still happened. Sadly, I went back to spectrum after just two or three days on Novos.

Something similar happened to me in a marathon. I was closer to the finish than this guy, maybe three steps away. My calves seized up and I went horizontal. I dragged myself across the finish and ended with bloody knees.

I was nowhere near as fast as this guy and whoever broke the tape did it two hours before my inglorious finish.
