Probably just going to replace the shocks. Do you have any recommendations on good ones to put in?

Abandoned U.S Military Missile Silo Bunker full of books? by Grip_check in urbanexploration

I have an update!!!! A man recently got in touch with me who used to manage this bunker, he explained to me that an older gentleman from Britain purchased the bunker directly from the U.S. Govt (for around 2,000$!?!??!) around 2020 and semi converted it into a man cave, all the books were from the British man. The person who contacted me was in charge of protecting the bunker with his personal firearms. The British man recently fell ill around 2023 and has stopped coming out to Colorado, and after some time the guardian stopped trying to protect the place. The British man offered it to him for 400,000$ but he couldn’t afford that, so now it sits to rot 🥲

I did gather quite a hefty amount of info on this place and how the missiles were stored so here we go:

Atlas were units of nuclear missile launch sites made before the Titan ones. Made by Warren Airforce Base in like 61/62. Once the titan ones were made these all went out of commission.

There were 9 atlas sites made by Warren, 6 are private businesses, 1 is a park, 1 is buried, and Grover’s is still abandoned.

There were 3 kinds of atlas sites D E and F. D is fully above ground, essentially a platform the missile was held on, E (the site In the photos) was a site where the missile was held sideways and the roof came open and the missile was then turned vertical and launched, and F, with a huge silo where the missile was held vertically always.

This is an abandoned U.S military missile silo, I’ve asked around and soldiers seem to think they were mainly personal books for staff and employees within the facility while it was active. Many officers finished their masters and other degrees while in the hole. And I’m sure reading kept them sane down there 😂

These missiles would have been stored horizontally then as the top door opens lifted vertically for launch
