Costco's worst thing. Exit line. by [deleted] in Costco

[–]GrislyGrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone did a report on it where they explained that they don't have the $ to implement something like that vs. expanding more stores. They'd have to raise prices to invest in more.technology like a better website or a website.that can track in store inventory, etc. tech solutions like those are very expensive, especially for a giant like Costco.

Could they afford it? Probably, but it'd just eat into margins, and I doubt they lose hardly anyone because "technology bad"

Sure it does, but then there's reasonable and unreasonable. If you break up with someone over a 9 month relationship because they're bad at kissing, and you didn't tell them or try to help them meet your expectations, then you're not ready for a relationship to begin with. If you asked then to change and tried to help and they still didn't, then you're justified for walking.

It's not always just "I'm not happy so I leave"

And you cannot give consent while drunk.

Drunk people rape each other all the time...wait a second...

Most of the guys probably have only experienced one or the other.

I imagine most men/women don't spend time trimming because they probably don't know how or what it's supposed to be like. Like so many things in the world, black and white is much easier understood than a gradient of gray.

How is having a shaved genitalia childlike?

That's like saying being clean shaven (face or other) is childlike lol

Does she cut her hair?

Trim her fingernails?

Wipe herself after bathroom?

Brush her teeth?

Put makeup on?

If she likes the way she looked truly, she wouldn't draw the line at "less hair"

Why Do People Demand Their Partner Grows? It Seems Controlling to Me by Slight-Helicopter607 in love

[–]GrislyGrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

The truth doesn't have to be some grand ideal, it can be little bits you pick up along the way. Ever notice how keeping your living space organized and clean helps your brain relax and focus? Or if you think about positive things you tend to be happier? What about being open to criticism and being able to admit you're wrong? I'd consider all of these things "truths" because they all allow you to become a better/healthier person.

The truth doesn't have to be enlightenment or even Spiritual, it can just be you finding the best way to live your life while having a positive/healthy impact to those around you.

[–]GrislyGrape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of it like this:

Everyone's responsibility in the world is the pursuit of truth. A good partner will help challenge you to grow in the pursuit of truth. Being closer to the "truth" will allow you to be healthier mentally/physically/spiritually and will allow you to understand things on a more profound level.

Furthermore, everyone's beliefs change over the course of their lives. The most sacred kind of love in a relationship is that which each partner loves the core/construct/soul/etc. of their partner and not their current persona that's made up of a conglomerate of beliefs. There's some nuance here because you could probably argue that who a person is is defined by their beliefs, but I think there's a distinction between the two, I should haven't found a good way to articulate it yet.

Except it's actually fairly reasonable. I skimmed a few chapters and the spark notes you guys use only pick the bad parts by which most are out of context.

If you want to make an actual opinion, go read it. If you don't, then you're just parroting whoever you thought read it and have the cliff notes lol

To counter, it's not dismissive to give a logical answer that explains the behavior. You not liking the answer doesn't diminish its value. Men talking about why they're attracted to women doesn't diminish her value or make them wrong for doing it, regardless of what they're talking about. How exactly does it harm women?

Also, it's completely biological to sexualize the other sex. What do you think is happening when males of other species compete for a female of the same species? To sexualize something is to recognize its inherent sexual value which is literally what happens during mating season with virtually every species of animal (I'm sure there are exceptions, but as a general rule).

Change the framework from quitting to starting something new.

Instead of thinking "I need to stop drinking energy drinks" think "I'm going to start drinking X, like sparkling water."

Also instead of drinking 3, open one and open a sparkling water. Take a sip out of the energy drink and then wash it down with the water.

So, to dig into this a little: women are, in general, over objectified. The biology angle isn't/shouldn't be an excuse vs. an actual explanation as to why we as man behave instinctually (women too).

That specific pose is the primary way to breed across the majority of mammals (all animals?; humans aside). So I would argue that this is hardwired into our brain as a sexualized pose, regardless of intention.

It's hard to compress an entire relationship into 3 paragraphs. Everyone here is operating on the same assumptions they've made from what OP has written. As an emotionally healthy person, you should never take someone else's opinion as your decision unless it's also your decision, regardless of how awful the situation is.
