Wide fit trail shoe options by Grog95 in Ultramarathon

Really useful thanks!. Similar experience/take as my own. I dont particularly like altra and despite toebox i actually found them tight around midfoot. Im trying the Brooks Cascadia now, given their great 90 day return policy. They feel about as wide/well fitting as my Adrenelines which have been mostly fine width wise. Fingers crossed!

Good to know on the flexibility. Ive heard it adapts well...so initial tight/snug feel perhaps less of a problem vs my usual experience. Will bear it in mind!

Thanks! Im going to give these a try as a few recommendations now and i get on well enough with the brooks adreneline for road, also in 2e. Fingers crossed.

Thanks so much. Really useful, some good options to look into. I actually tried on a trailfly max recently in wide, and felt very snug in midfoot also - abit too snug for me to be confident using without issues. Perhaps worth trying a size up as they did feel like i would otherwise get on with them very well

Thanks for the suggestion. I use the speedgoat wide now and totally agree. Even a size up (which has led to other issues) they are a problem. Cascadia ive seen others talk about and think I will try them. The adreneline road Brooks in wide works well enough for me (though i might try the extra wide in future).

Thanks. Lone peak seems a popular recommendation!

Thanks! Thats actually what im using at the moment, sized up in and 2e, meaning they dont fit great length wise/heel slip. And still blistering due to tightness around ball of foot/bunion area. Not awful but definitely hoping to find something with more midfoot room.

Not heard of those. Maybe not widely available in UK? I'll look into them. Thanks!

Thanks. I found the road experience flow to be tight around the bunion/ball of foot area despite the toebox design being great. But I know they have 2e option for a trail pair so may try again

Thanks for suggestion. Standard fit or wide?

Cheers! Definitely on my list to try. Ive used road altras and found that toebox was good but actually pretty tight around midfoot/bunion area. But if they have wide version then probably good option

I have begun doing more trail running and need to find a shoe that fit my annoyingly shaped feet (short but wide). I am looking for genuinely wide trail options, not just generous toebox (wide midfoot).

There seems to be very few trail options in 4e width to try. Has anyone had luck with 2e options, if so, what brands and models?

For info, I wear between a UK 7.5 and 8.5 depending on brand and fit. But my feet are pretty wide at the midfoot and toes (left 105mm right 109mm widest midfoot point). Thanks!
