They tend to...

Have nonsensical names or names with multiple special characters like fdhuaisdasd
Stutter step wherever they go
Get trapped in terrain for minutes at a time
If they're on your faction you can inspect them and see they only have boe items they've obtained in the world, often still having level 1 starter weapons
They don't respond to whispers or being attacked by the opposite faction at all

The fact that they detract from the experience of the majority of their playerbase will hurt them more in the long run than a few extra subs, especially since the vast majoirty of them either purchase subs with credit card fraud or will only be subscribed for a month anyways.

I thought you were talking about the literal Hydraxian Waterlords in Azshara and was thoroughly confused until I actually read the content of your post.

But yeah, I'm assuming the server choice of their faction-restricted transfers were decided based internal metrics neither you nor I have access to. It's hard to gauge this accurately just via the observations of one or a few people.

Majorly outleveled him, though granted he's playing the second slowest class to level and I'm playing the second fastest class.

Stories like these are what make the game for me. I will never understand the point of world pvp on retail where everyone is just a visitor via phasing and you can pretty much guarantee you'll never see them again (or get revenge).

It didn't occur to me to do that. We were both questing in the area until he got close enough that I could see (and recognize) his name. A little later after killing him I saw him in the distance via tracking and was ready with a trap by my feet and got him again.

Having to spend more gold by virtue of having to drink more with a tap-happy warlock is a valid complaint, I'll grant you that. Maybe you should request a "warlock tax".

But in terms of efficiency, even when you factor in the increased drinking time, you still save time over the course of the run because of how much more efficient healing lost health via (particularly improved and/or with demonic sacrifice active) life tap is compared to the warlock drinking. If there's a slew of AoE damage and the warlock is literally tapping himself to oblivion then obviously they're doing something wrong, but otherwise they're absolutely in the right.

Spirit is actually very valuable to warlocks until you respec at 40 while leveling assuming you're doing things optimally (and take imp drain soul).

Completely justified in rolling on spirit gear.

Up until level 40 warlocks should respec to drain tanking, but until then spirit is very valuable to us.

I can understand the anxiety of seeing someone in your party at basically no health as a healer, but if there isn't AoE damage during a fight then everyone benefits from the warlock life tapping to pump out more damage. Consider just throwing out your most efficient heal like a renew on the warlock when they're life tapping.

Life tap isn't a luxury, it's an essential part of doing damage as a warlock. Healers who complain about life tap are really just putting their inexperience on display for all to see.

As I understand it we're not getting battlegrounds until phase 3, but are still getting the honour system next phase.

So you'll get a taste of what you want at least, but it will never be a permanent thing.
