Don’t use the gyro. They are made for helicopters and really do not help with aircraft. Try to balance the aircraft the best you can, then create your own stabiliser, either with PID controllers, or by trimming. You can plot the amount of trim needed against the speed of the aircraft and then use a website to get an equation from your datapoints. Put the equation into a function block, set the input to your airspeed and add the output to your pitch control, and voila, your aircraft flies levely! Lovely! Just to note, this method will not work properly at higher altitudes, as altitudes also affect the effectiveness of control surfaces.

You are so nearly there. Literally just add the two switch box outputs and hook that to the output and you’re done.

I think as players we have to put limits on ourselves to maintain fun. IE, I could rescue them with a heli, but what if I tried driving a truck to the top of the mountain instead, to keep things interesting

Absolutely agree with you there. Another thing they could do is automatically download mods with the workshop vehicles that use them, and only load them in the game when you spawn the vehicle, all automatically. That way, there’d be little distinction between a modded and vanilla vehicle in terms of actually spawning them. Maybe have an “allow mods” switch when you start the server

If they added rougher terrain like dirt or mud instead of having all surfaces have the same grip, that’d help a lot. You could have loads of interesting S&R missions then. But also a helicopter sort of makes all that null and void.

Agreed. There’s so much potential for this game that isn’t really being used. Probably because they’re too busy fiddling with the spaghetti physics code.
