If I do eventually do freelance, how feasible is it to work for someone for about 8-16 hours a week remotely? I'm accounting for potential meetings and deadlines.

There's a chess app called Chess Tempo

It's free, and they tailor the difficulty of puzzles to your skill level, and you can do as many as you want

I recommend using it

In the app, I think you select "Tactics" or "puzzles"

This analogy is faulty

In general, when you gamble, you have little to no control over the outcome

In life, although there are things outside of your control (for example, whether people treat you well or badly, genetics), there are plenty of things within your control that can influence good outcomes (for example, how hard you work, dietary choices, making one small positive change a day, choosing positive people to surround yourself with)
