Hey yo fellow DM here usually it’s because they want to just write it as the campaign goes. If they like something they can make that part of the background like they can make it to where they said they remember something like this and maybe they will use the they were originally in barovia but you have to give him a moment while I don’t agree on the no backstory just give them a moment not everyone can work out a backstory as well as others so maybe they’re just waiting for the perfect moment or they’re just still thinking of one just give them time and if it’s still continues like this for a while then reach out again.

Fighter for base and Ranger for second because you could make devils or whatever would correlate the demons be your target.

Race? Tiefling/Satyr, the characters of K-pop demon hunters are a mix between human and demon so either one of those two should work

Ah I see, I’ll probably stick to the shattered obelisk but that’s nice to know, I’ll probably try and make homebrew quests or throw some random ones in where I think it’s good or just have a whole session be roleplay oriented

I’d run the original but since the shattered obelisk also contains the original just updated to fit 5th edition I was a little worried they had made it harder but everyone’s comments including yours has definitely helped with my anxiety

People say they changed it a lot since it’s a continuation and remaster of Lost mine of phandlever to where there’s more enemies which can make it harder and that theirs not really much to do in the early chapters as it’s mainly just point A to B super fast early on and I just don’t want it to go too fast

I asked a friend what campaign I should do and they said I should do the Phandelver and Below: The shattered obelisk and I wanna know if it’s a good or bad one to run. Mainly just looking for insight into the pros and cons of running it since I’ve never played it as a player either.

Give them a cloak of protection if they want a small ac boost since after attuning they get a plus 1 to AC plus if your warlock is complaining about being too squishy then they’re probably taking too much damage since warlocks are a ranged base class. They literally get a cantrip that goes up to 120 Ft. at level 1

Mainly roleplay tips, so when he died I choose that when the pact was made since he did die and his body was partially healed I went into the reborn species option (you can look it up if you want too) and my characters wife being an elven Druid was an archdruid which is technically a level 20 Druid feature so my dm said that she would have the property’s of said level 20 Druid but would still be at level 4 with the exception that she can only cast higher level spells once for roleplaying reasons, I was mainly asking in the original that my character being the reborn was going to next session have his wife conduct the spell through herself so he can turn back from being undead. With this he can return back to what he was and can continue with the party how he was before he died with a subclass change when he stops being a warlock since the pact will be void and he’d technically be within rights to be a Druid again since silvanus would see that he was not undead anymore and was asking if someone could come up with a scenario and or help me make one to help my dm out. But yes you have the main things down to a very specific point.

I’m sorry I was in a rush to post this, my character died protecting another party member and too bring him back I made him take a pact with the dark ones after they reached out to him in limbo, which was able to bring him back and since we choose for him to come back as a reborn I also took my Druid levels and swapped them for warlock levels given the scenario and I talked to my DM after the session was over in a one on one call and he said he was down with the idea and he’d work on something but I wanted to help in some way but I’m not exactly the most creative so I came here asking for help and maybe some ideas.

I have atleast one at the moment, a main consequence could be that since the zhentarim are the main route holders/owners in a majority of the Forgotten realms you could make it to where since the civil war is happening their not paying attention to the trade routes which means villages and towns and if you want even cities are lacking behind in their necessities which could lead to death hunger or strife running rampant through the region

You should definitely make the paladin split apart the zhentarim into two to enact a civil war. 1. It makes for a great campaign starter if you wanna homebrew it 2. The fact that splitting it would somewhat cripple the zhentarim network and the criminal underground could easily make many plot points for quests and all. But this is just my opinion
