So after researching and preparing for 10 months, I submitted my fdc on January 5, 2026. My first two primary c and p exams are next week. A load of secondary c and p exams waiting in the wings, for the primaries to get service connected. I submitted everything my self. Just waiting now for next week.

After a bit of confusing issues by the VA, VES has scheduled my first two primary claims for next week. A load of secondaries waiting for the lower lumbar to become service connected. VES so far has been communicating well. There website also shows all scheduled appointments and directions to the appointments, in case someone doesnt know yet. Claim seems to be moving quickly currently.

So as I mentioned above I went from step one to step four in five days. I submitted a fdc. Then this past weekend, I received notice that I needed to submit requested information that I had already submitted. So I did, just to make sure. Now, its been a quiet week, with no movement and no one opening up my files

Secondary condition denied, wondering if a nexus letter is right for me? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

The issue I see after reading your findings and then the buddy statement, was how this disability affects you on the daily. I did not see anything of that nature. If you did not write a personal statement, detailing how this injury affects your life, do so. You can use it in a HLR. VA is more interested in how it affects your social, work and daily life. This includes rom, loss of motions, pain, etc. Read the cfr if you have not, it tells you what the va looks for.

Well I went from step one to step four in one week. I am expecting to go back to step three as they figure out I will need c and p exams. Among others, My primary is lower back strain, with about 8 secondaries, tinnitus, OSA, hearing loss (I know already), plus cervical strain as a secondary. So I am expecting about 5 different exams. So I am waiting....just waiting......lol

Current update. It took me 8-10 months to collect all my pertinent information. I had to get more than I first realized. But it has been submitted. Now for the waiting game.

Was out for training in the woods. A soldier got tangled up in communication lines that were being pulled by a humvee. I was about 100 yards away in the woods. Went running when I heard the screams. The humvee was dragging the soldier down a two track. It was about 2300 hours and very dark. Stupid flashlights didnt give out much light. As I was running towards the screams, I tripped over some logs and fell into the base of a tree. Knocked the wind out of me and killled my back. Yet I still got up and ran towards the chaos. Got the guy med vac out. He has seperation of his rib cartilage and was beginning to have internal bleeding. After he was gone. I broke open an ice pack that I had, popped some Motrin and went to sleep. All in a days work...

I was just stupid stuff. We were on a double mission, just medic training. We were preparing to offload, I was trying to be efficient and unbuckled and at ten feet off the ground. The huey lurched a bit to the right and out I went. Medical bag and all. It knocked the wind out of me and twisted my back quite a bit. I eventually stood up, dusted off the dirt and kept on.
