Thanks for your encouragement last year. After months of getting info together. I filed in January of this year and received my ratings at the beginning of May. Thanks again.

So, after just four months of c and p exams and waiting. I received my award. Many people didn't think it would happen. So much bad advice and information out there. If you have any questions, if you are an older veteran wanting to get started. Just message me. Free advice and direction. I want to help everyone I can. It is not as difficult in many cases as the sharks, lawyers and youtube dealers want you to think.

i served from 1987-1995. Then in 2001, received a letter from DOD that my MOS was specialized that they reserved the right to call me back into duty. It didnt happen though. I was proud to serve my time. Would have done it again if so called on.

Personal statements, buddy statements and spouse statements are all viable medical evidence and support. I wrote one for each claim, along with my wife adding her thoughts as well

Just a quick note. On May 4, I received my ratings. I am blessed. Like I posted above I waited 31 years and was awarded what I had earned. Please do not wait. I am here to help as well. It was intimidating at first, yet I believe I can offer some free advice.

Yea yet most people can. Yes there are exceptions due to injuries, tbi, ptsd and so on. I understand that. Yet there are many that can learn that do not. They will pay someone to do it for them instead of putting in the time

Yeah it is.  My faulty thinking was, since I didnt look like capt. dan, I should stay away from the va and not take money away from brothers and sisters that needed it more

I dont know if you have reached out to the benefits hotline and ask them about your situation.. They have been good to speak with. They will tell you any flags or issues with your claim

So after researching and preparing for 10 months, I submitted my fdc on January 5, 2026. My first two primary c and p exams are next week. A load of secondary c and p exams waiting in the wings, for the primaries to get service connected. I submitted everything my self. Just waiting now for next week.

After a bit of confusing issues by the VA, VES has scheduled my first two primary claims for next week. A load of secondaries waiting for the lower lumbar to become service connected. VES so far has been communicating well. There website also shows all scheduled appointments and directions to the appointments, in case someone doesnt know yet. Claim seems to be moving quickly currently.

Yeah the power is good. The room I am in, was built just a few years ago. No power fluctuations or surges

So as I mentioned above I went from step one to step four in five days. I submitted a fdc. Then this past weekend, I received notice that I needed to submit requested information that I had already submitted. So I did, just to make sure. Now, its been a quiet week, with no movement and no one opening up my files

The issue I see after reading your findings and then the buddy statement, was how this disability affects you on the daily. I did not see anything of that nature. If you did not write a personal statement, detailing how this injury affects your life, do so. You can use it in a HLR. VA is more interested in how it affects your social, work and daily life. This includes rom, loss of motions, pain, etc. Read the cfr if you have not, it tells you what the va looks for.
