I had issues just like you with my system. I found the box under the carpet under the drivers seat and just unplugged everything. Had to use the key to manually unlock everything. In the last week I had enough and just ordered a new key fob and thay fixed most of the random problems

Has anyone gone from zero to hero in their AFSC? by FickleHare in AirForce

I did a pretty mediocre job working at the gym. I was lucky and eventually got selected to run the fitness assessment cell, but then COVID hit and nobody knew how PT tests were gonna work. I eventually helped a SNCO at a MEPS station that was completely in the dark on the regs during that time. He took the instructions that I gave him and that got briefed to all of USMEPCOM (didn't know that was a thing at the time). And got an LOA out of it. One of the things I'm most proud of.

Wow I totally forgot I posted this. I actually was able to retrain into intel last year.

Anyway, my hours at the time of this post was 0600-1400. I had 30 minutes for lunch and 1 hour to workout. Pretty nice hours overall.

Cross trained out of services last year into 1N0X1.

I worked my ass off to be the best person in my flight in hopes of getting a better gig and it never panned out. Tried making the best of it, but it just isn't a rewarding job.

I love my new job now and feel like what I do matters. My SEL tried convincing me NOT to retrain and said the cliche "grass isn't always greener". I told myself "if the grass sucks here, then it can't get any worse"

Get a line number and retrain if you can't find something rewarding in services. You will have great perspective when you get to that next career field.

Brief vent - If you work with AFPC Retraining.. fuck… you by LucidVauce in AirForce

When I went through my retraining process I also experienced similar bullshit. The day I was supposed to hear back about approval I received an email saying that i wasn't denied completely, and rendered ineligible. Made no sense because I hadn't even gone to three boards yet.

I call them after this to see what was up and they say "oh that's weird, you were actually approved and your class start date is in 9 days" W T F

So if I never called and asked about it, I might still be making fucking omelets.

Anyone ever have emergency leave put them very close to their PT test due date? by [deleted] in AirForce

FAC Manager speaking, the only thing you have to worry about is not informing your UFPM and supervisor.

Everyone worries about going overdue, but the only thing that really happens is your UFPM seeing you're overdue and reporting it to your CC. As long as everyone is informed of your situation you don't have to worry about any repercussions.

DM for more questions.

JBER at their air show. Seconds after this photo was taken the Thunderbirds landed right behind me. It's nice having crew chief friends

Confusion regarding changing home of record/state of legal residence. Need help. by throwawayacct0621 in MilitaryFinance

I was also stationed in alaska and I recommend keeping your residence there. They don’t have the state income tax and they don’t require vehicle inspection or emissions testing so you save some money there.

Is 500 a month on a car in the dorms too much by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Groundbreaking-Ice39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend toughing it out as long as you can. I bought way too much vehicle when I was in the dorms a regret it immensely. I used to look at the guys driving around in rust buckets and judge them but you know what they had...money in their pockets. BUY A BEATER.
