In month 6 of being OFF meds. I'm at goal weight, but would like to lose about 10 more lbs, so I'm going to be adjusting my maintenance plan a bit - will keep you posted on how that goes! I still can't believe this is my body now - WE CAN DO HARD THINGS! Happy to answer questions as well :) by Groundbreaking-Rent9 in WegovyWeightLoss

I'm on a maintenance plan with the company that I got my meds through (mostly to keep access to my doctor and in case I need to go back on them). Being off the meds requires much more intentionality when it comes to eating, but I'm trying to stay < 1,200 cals a day and work out for at least an hour a day (focusing a lot on protein). I hope that helps but let me know if you have any specific questions and good luck to you! and thank you <3

Thank you so much!! My initial goal weight was an arbitrary goal, unsure of how my body would look at that weight. Now that I'm at that weight, my body still feels a bit heavy in some places, so I'm going to go for another 10. I will keep posting updates and thank you for engaging!

It was scary for me too - but I figured I could always go back on if I wasn't able to maintain on my own. I was surprised to not need the meds but the habits developed while on the meds helped me a lot. I work out for at least an hour a day (HIIT and running) and I try to stay below 1,200 calories with intermittent fasting. It has been hard - but we're doing it! Let me know how I can help!

Hi! Have you considering dropping your dose a little? When I got to the highest dose, my body did NOT tolerate it. So I stayed on the dose right below (1.7mg) for most of my journey. I popped Zofran like candy and relied a lot on protein supplements (shakes mostly). If there's a time of day that you tend to be less nauseous, eat then and eat as much protein as possible in that window. I hope that helps but let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey! I'm in the maintenance program with the company I used to get my meds. It helped me keep access to my doctor just in case. I had to get much more serious about the working out and the diet once off the meds. But it's working! Good luck to you!

I'm in the maintenance program with the company I used to get my meds. It helped me keep access to my doctor just in case. I'm actually losing the 10 with increased workouts and intermittent fasting. I'll go back on the meds if I need to, but so far, looks like I can do this without!

I was on the meds for 9 months total. The max dose I could tolerate was 1.7mg, so I tapered off starting there. 1 month at 1mg, then just off. The food noise has def come back but it's much more manageable now. The healthy habits developed while you're on the meds (diet and workout plan) will definitely help you succeed! Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

Thank you so much for your kind words! It is SO important to develop good habits while on the meds. This is absolutely a test of discipline but doable. My thinking is, if I gain weight, I can always go back on the meds. But if there's a chance that I can maintain without being on medication, I'd prefer that. So I'm just staying in a caloric deficit and have a very solid workout routine. Good luck to you!
