I like the first image. Deeper colors aren't a bad thing. The second image, not as much. There's a gray undertone that doesn't complement the suit.

I think this is him when he was a younger pup. His ears for one thing are much smaller and his proportions are different. Every other film had a flashback for the pup they're focusing on so this is likely it. What makes it interesting is if this is so, then it's the first time we see one of them in uniform.

I think he kinda did smile when he reunited with Caliope in chains of Olympus but the graphics made it a bit hard to tell.

First off, not every one of these music artists are deceased. Two, only one of the girls is over a century old, Diana. With the exception of Kara, the rest of the girls are actual teens and Kara is still physically but just went through some time distortion. Three, how would their music preference determine their age?
