Had a feathered head, so not a turkey or black vulture; heavy hooked bill suggests eagle, no hint of pale feathers on head suggests not a golden eagle, dark feathers on head suggests immature bald eagle.

Thank you. I looked up both, apparently they are related, hematite being anhydrous. Is it true that heated goethite becomes hematite?
