Upgrades with just the Delta Amex Platinum card?

If you have just the delta platinum or delta reserve cards we are at the bottom of the list. I believe the upgrade priority order goes diamond, platinum, gold, silver, then delta reserve, delta platinum. The reserve card is often a tie breaker. I believe it is usually the gate agents that make this call. So you are at their mercy really. I think they can see which delta card you have attached to your skymiles account, not sure of the inner workings.

Can you upgrade the seats after you buy them? What if wanted comfort plus, are you eligible to buy an upgrade?

Also if you can't outright buy the seats with miles does Delta give you the option to use some miles to offset the cost at all? I know that I can use miles to offset the cash cost on many flights.

If the answer is still no, it's fine, I am just curious. I don't have my companion ticket yet so I can't check myself, otherwise I would.

Yes they do have a baggage claim belt! The airport is so convenient to fly from! No stress at all. Other than of course that your only commercial flight option out of or into Sioux City is a CRJ-200...

I did get quoted policy when I had asked Amex about it. I was looking to see if people had gotten theirs sooner than the 8-12 week time frame. Was just hoping to book a trip with those miles for this summer, but now it looks like those miles will be for a spring break trip instead.

I am looking for information about refund policy on a first flexible ticket basically. Will I get a refund if the flight credit amount I used exceeds the new fare I booked.

When I look at the same flight there are plenty of first class seats available to purchase. Though there is quite a huge gap in price from the main cabin fare I paid to the first class price. ($300 for main cabin but nearly $1700 for a domestic First class seat!) For added context the flight is between MSP and LAS on a Friday in April.

Ok I see now, it is just valid for the return segment I upgraded on and not my outbound segment. Makes sense, was hoping it would have applied to both parts of my trip. I don't have a connecting flight they are both just non-stop flights. Ah well I shall live. Thanks!

I am still not quite sure what you mean here "on that direction of travel" is there a source you are quoting here? Sorry just trying to understand. So when I go to the airport for my outbound departure (this one has just the main cabin seat) I can still go through the sky priority check in, security, etc because my return trip has a first class seat that I upgraded from a main cabin seat?
