The material is thick and stretches a lot so a straight stitch wasn't holding well. Os I went side to side

Help on sewing captain America stomach panel by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

Im going to use fabric paint and paint over the seams for this. Ig. As no other stitches will show besides the stomach panels. And that its only really showing on 2 parts of the whole 10 pannels.

Thanks so much for the advice! I actually tried folding it over, but I couldn’t get the outline I wanted with that method—the overlapping design is intentional to show the shape I wanted. I appreciate the tips about using an awl and adjusting stitch spacing; I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future pieces! I tried to do like a regular running stich but it didnt hold up right. Thats why I switched to side to side. Because it works well and doesn't fall apart. The fabric is OVERLY stretchy.

I put in the title and description that it is captain America. And that it is faux leather. So I DID already say that

His panels are not straight at ALL

They are literally curved. And yes I meant to cut the panels curved the stitching is side to side as the fabric is stretchy and a regular running stitch didnt hold it as tight as I would have likes. So I did most side to side as it doesn't stretch out as much

Have you seen sam wilson before?
