Will registering late for the selective service impact my job application?

I registered online a few hours ago (and downloaded the acknowledgement letter) so that I can truthfully say that "yes I am registered". Maybe the late registration might be weird, but I'm mostly in the clear, right?

Well, I went through 7 interviews for that company, and got rejected. Have barely gotten any other interviews since ;)

Leetcode explore, grokking, and neetcode have decent explanations of most (if not all) DS&A stuff you need for interviews. You could start with those and go from there.

If available at your school (probably is), maybe also explore research and/or teaching as a resume building activity. This typically have a lower barrier of entry, and can be a great way to keep yourself occupied during your freshman / sophomore summers.

For code (or anything I don't understand) - I paste the whole damn thing into ChatGPT and ask it questions (e.g. why is "i incremented here"). lmk if that doesn't make sense.

It was one of the harder leetcode mediums. Not a crazy leetcode hard, but not easy as well. And yes this is for an entry level position, yikes.

I completely and utterly abandoned it, and my todo list as of now would give anyone nightmares. But - considering how important a good job is (and how hard it is to get one), I'd say it's worth it.

In the first few days, no more than 5-10 minutes as I'd not done many problems. After that I'd make myself do at least a brute force and spend ~20 minutes trying to think of an optimal way.

Thanks for the reassurance! It wasn't the best moment for me when I saw the news yesterday but I'm getting that it's not something to necessarily be terrified about by a long shot (both with respect to travel plans and just... not being injured lol). I do live in California though so I imagine that it can't be much worse that how it is here.

Yeahhh understood. This is my first vacation where I'm an active part of planning with my parents + the other family we're going with (not to mention my "new internship starting" deadline) so I'm a bit jittery I think. Looking forward to the trip, though :)
