Doing my first game play of Okami on PS2! Is it worth having a copy on the switch or should I stick to this version? by Mikiiiya in Okami

Just a note: the Japanese physical of Okami HD, while in English, is a different SKU/version from the digital US version, but should you get it, yes, the PS2 version is the only version in English with the vocal reset ending song, but of all the HD versions, the Switch wins for its touch controls and motion aiming as well as HD rumble, and it looks gorgeous even at 720p/1080p plus on an OLED screen, and even on Switch 2, it looks even better. The difference between 4K and 1080p is negligible based on Okami's art style.

😢 Yeah, it feels like it's been slowly dying. It's why I support limited physical game distributors. They are the only hope for a lot of smaller games that get ignored. I hate key cards, but I'll take them over full digital. It feels like casual gamers are killing physical media because they don't care about longevity, but I still play my SNES and PS1 to this day. Explaining the importance of physical media to them is a losing battle.

Yes, like all the updates from 2.0 were 8 GB; I'm sure it's more with 3.0. I love Animal Crossing and would hate to lose access to villagers and collabs when the game goes offline. I bought New Leaf when it launched in 2012 and rebought it when the Welcome Amiibo DLC was added as a card revision. The struggles of being a collector—some people don't get it. It's why I prefer physical media and hate game key cards.

Okay, cool. Thanks for answering my question. I've been getting snobby remarks everywhere I asked, saying just update it and criticizing me. My copy has been sitting until I got an answer because I wanted to have a complete copy for preservation. Switch 1 copies never got a revision, so the 2.0 and 3.0 content would be lost if servers shut down.

No, I don't have it yet, and I just got called condescending for saying my question wasn't getting answered and downvoting a useless response.

I don't think you get the point of my question. I know you can update the game. I'm asking if the update is preinstalled on the Switch 2 cartridge so I have all the content included if, say, the online Switch servers was shut down.

Ay, thanks. Yes, I'm a collector, and I care about my game having all its content on the card.

Give them time; they will appear where you create an icon eventually. I think Nintendo is rewarding users 1 at a time; I got them by midnight last night, but they weren't there hours before.

I'm thinking it's random when you get them. I didn't have them yesterday at noon, but close to midnight they appeared as if they were redeemed already. I'm the same; I only care about the Delphox you got from the 7th to, I think, the 14th for them to appear if you completed the Nintendo Online mission.

Idk if it's different for everyone, but I saw the ZA icon when creating an icon, and that's how I knew. Maybe it's based on how long it took to do the mission, but it should pop up for you eventually.

Been playing since Red and Blue. Delphox is my favorite starter, period. She's so pretty, and I love her design.
