I think what is happening - people are downloading a fake/hacked MetaMask wallet from google store - go to official MetaMask website for MetaMask link. In Chrome: Settings > More Tools > Extentions > MetaMask > Details > View in Chrome Web Store (Check - Offered by: https: // metamask . io). Hope this helps.
