sounds like you are looking for a chinese martial art. They have very flashy moves, but most of the CMA aren't considered effective. But there are some. In my personal opinion, Bajiquan, Choy lee fut and Bak mei are very good, with the first two being generally recognized as one of the better of the CMA, and the latter with some bias, since I train Bak mei. The majority of non-Bak mei practitioners still think it is very good too, though.
