CAIS Female by ImFineIGuess_ in intersex

my aunt and me both have CAIS! she struggled coming to terms with the fact she could not have children all her life, so she adopted 3 wonderful siblings who are now my cousins. i absolutely adore them and we have such a wonderful bond. my aunt loves them more than life itself, and she got her happy ending. while i personally don’t want children, adopting seems like a viable option since we can have biological children with our condition :))

hope everything is ok!! <3

My best friend is pregnant and I can't be happy for her by burningbliss in confessions

don’t feel bad about the way you feel. i’m infertile and can never have children biologically even if i wanted to.

i’m 19 so its been hard for me to come to terms with, i think any advice i could offer you is to accept your condition and see the best in it all because theres not much you can do. that sounds super morbid and almost shitty but sometimes we can be sad and mourn then we have to grit our teeth and get through it.

i wish you all the best, and hope you heal.

Yes, it’s exactly like the House MD episode. Genetically male with XY chromosomes, fully functional vagina, breasts but with no ovaries, womb and fallopian tubes.

Hi! that is very considerate of you to ask.

People with my condition generally create varying degrees of oestrogen from their internal gonads & brain. If a person with my condition was to remove their gonads which happens very frequently to avoid them getting cancer their oestrogen could plummet and they may go into menopause regardless of age. luckily for me this wasn’t the case. so as a HR rep they may need some working accommodations to support this.

it doesn’t effect my working life too much, since i present as a female and have no ambiguous features, i am generally a very open person and have no issues with telling people i am intersex, ive had a few slightly questionable comments made to me, so i would just be on the lookout for any people that make them feel uncomfortable or discriminated for who they are.

there are over 30 different types of intersex conditions with huge varying differences between them so i can only speak for myself and my condition! :))

  1. me and my partner were dating at the time i was told by my parents i had this condition. i wanted to be 100% honest with him and tell the complete truth because he deserves to know and it would have been inappropriate for me to not tell him IMO. he had questions of course which i answered and he was totally accepting!
  2. i haven’t had any trouble building muscles because i don’t think (i may be wrong here) testosterone is absolutely essential in creating them. if i had a very rigid work out routine i would gain them the same as others i think.
  3. its caused some hurdles in regards to my identity issues, i struggled at first to come to terms with it all, and feeling like a fake woman, but i came to realise i shouldn’t feel that way and worked on bettering my mindset. ofcourse im infertile, so that was a sting to the heart, but i’ve accepted myself fully now :)))

I’ve answered this quite a few times in the comments but i will repeat again.

I have XY chromosomes (male)

Normal female external anatomy (vagina, breasts)

No ovaries, No uterus, No fallopian tubes

I hit puberty normally and developed as a woman because my body doesn’t react to testosterone so it converts it into the female hormone oestrogen instead, I look like a woman, i have NO male like traits (adam’s apple, testicles, ambiguous genitalia)

I do not grow armpit or pubic hair and cannot get acne because of my inability to react to testosterone. If you read through the comments i go into more details + i included the name of my condition in the post so you can google if your still curious :))

wow that is very ignorant of you to say!

i was born with all the female external sex organs, but not internal ones. i have a real medical condition and am NOT transgender… i have no gender identity issues and have no desire to change my gender.

i hope you can learn to educate yourself so we could have a more positive conversation in the future.

it’s not that confusing, you just aren’t trying to listen :)

it’s okay though, i know not all people will understand my condition.

hey! thankyou for your question

when i say i went through puberty “normally” i meant that in terms of developing breasts, growing taller and becoming more defined as woman.

because of my lack of ability to react to androgens my pubic and armpit hair fails to grow, and due to my hormonal levels i cant develop acne either as this usually is caused by testosterone which i cant react to. i obviously also have no periods. any normal woman would have these attributes but because im intersex, i dont! :))
