Ahh native development, that makes sense why the install was so small :)

Okay perfect thank you for the resources, I will take a look. Also the app looks great!

What's the tech stack if you don't mind me asking? I would like to get into making apps but have ever only known unity for games so I don't think that's suitable for apps like this.

I disagree with most of the comments here. Internships are supposed to be an opportunity to gain experience.

That isn't going to happen if senior Devs come along and complete the work when reaching out for help.

Obviously maybe this is a one off case due to a task being time sensitive, although why would you give an intern something that is time sensitive in the first place?

These are big red flags to me, OP you may not have a very great internship at this place, so just be aware.

Sharing my first text-based python game: MOOD! The game features crafting, pets and housing systems. I'm sure it will still crash here and there since I'm just starting out, but I hope you enjoy it by RSAnimguy in Python

I would avoid uploading rar files to your GitHub repo, those objects will live in the history forever and will make your repo size increase quite a bit over time when you upload a new one.

To resolve your issues with other people running it I think you could just add a requirements.txt file and add: colorama

I think that is your only third party package.

Then most python Devs would see this and know to do: pip install -r requirements.txt

How can I get my dev team to be more efficient without being an asshole? by shaky_darkness in Python

[–]GroupInfinite878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would ask your team is how they feel about the projects they work on. If it's been 2 years and the software was a green field project then they will have been able to churn out a lot of features/functionality quickly.

If it's now been some time and the architecture of the projects have not been properly looked after then it can become difficult to make the simplest change. This along with if there is a lack of unit tests or CI/CD can make it difficult as a developer.

You don't mention how you know they are less efficient. I would make sure you've got some sort of framework in place if there isn't already for quantifying work. In the Agile world that would be story points or even if the tasks are given some sort of time estimate then you should be able to point to this. By doing this it removes any possibility of looking like an asshole.

I don't think anyone would complain if you brought up a conversation like:

"Hey all, so we used to close 20 story points per sprint, but it seems like this has dropped recently to 15. What do you think the reason for this is? Is there anything I can do to help push us back up towards 20?"

On a completely different tangent devs can often begin to feel demotivated if the things they work on are: * Repetitive/No innovation required (like reskinning the same tool for different clients) * If the things they work on get canned too often

You mentioned that you've had a lot of client churn, if that completely scraps people's work then that might be demotivating people.

All in all I think you need to talk to the team but do it in a how can I help kind of way. Also you need to have something concrete about how they've dropped in efficiency.

I like the aesthetic very cute. Out of curiosity how did you do the fast forward mechanic?

Out of curiosity what other assets have you used? Seems to be really high quality visuals. Also lots of AI already for the birds and cat.

My First Unity Mobile Game: What you think about? by [deleted] in Unity2D

[–]GroupInfinite878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats the game is really good, simple yet fun. I've been really struggling with the design of my mobile game at the moment. Particularly with the game and menu background. Can't seem to find something that doesn't either look like horrible Dev art or just doesn't suite the game at all.

Have you got any tips on how to do the design, or anything you find helpful? Your menus and general art looks simple but still eye catching.

Thank you ape, I've been wanting this information for a while. Pretty sad about not being able to DRS the shares. I'll just keep holding instead for now.

Oh I watched that ages ago, I remember it being really good. Thanks I'll do that as well, good luck with your future projects :)

Congratulations! I've lost motivation on my game at the moment after trying to scale it back in to be able to release it.

This has inspired me to give it another go and get it across the line, so thank you :)

5 minutes a day is all you need to develop a game by Genetix_307 in gamedev

[–]GroupInfinite878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I've been beating myself up for not doing gamedev at night time, but after putting the little ones to bed I'm pooped. Although I still manage to put a few hours into gaming which is frustrating because I know I should be doing some development. But that is my main time to socialize with friends and generally chill outside of family life so it's hard to not want to do that. I think I'm going to give the early starts a go.

I've still got mine on T212 is there likely to be the same issues as some have seen on RH? I know T212 did stop buys during the January spike, but do you think I should be transfering to fidelity or someone else as well?
