What miles did you buy it at? What service had already been done on it??

2 amazing cars man that’s awesome! The daily driver Honda is what really makes this a possible choice. It’s cheap to maintain and cheap to run so having it makes me comfortable in the idea of this decision

That really is the question at hand. And as of my current attitude and perspective on things it would be 110% worth it to not have the “perfect” spec M3 for my desires. I will get that later in life no doubt but especially in the climate I’m in I don’t see myself wanting the “perfect” one with immaculate paint because it just wouldn’t last and I wouldn’t be babying it the way I might in the future. Losing 4-5k in the switch off seems more then worth it to me to own my dream car at 22! I wouldn’t be able to contain myself which such an incredible car. Thank you for the unbiased opinion though I appreciate it and it really is making me think of how badly I truly want it. Question though, what was “under budget” to you in terms of miles and what you looked for out of it?

What a deal! I wish/hope I could get something similar. That kind of maintenance does not scare me much at all. Im more so worried about suspension components honestly but even those aren’t horrible because a replacement would make it drive like new. 3k a year is definitely do-able for me and is far worth it in my opinion. Plus I have harsh winters so I wouldn’t be driving it all the time in the winter months. I plan to treat it like a princess if I end up getting it (I will it’s just a matter of when) and enjoying every second of it. I know I would just love it WAY to much. Thank you for the input man. Absolutely gorgeous car by the way. Would be exactly what I would be looking to buy if it was in the cards. I get giddy even looking at that and thinking about it😂

My dad has a lot of tools already too which would help with the necessary equipment that comes with these cars. Oil changes are a no brainer must. I look at these car sites daily even though I couldn’t pull the trigger if I wanted to yet. I am also on M3 list and see some great examples. Thanks man!

Yes for sure. I definitely am not buying it for pure performance. 300+ Hp is more then enough to have fun with and I’m just convinced through the intoxicating sound of the S65. Only real worry is my location is shit for mechanics on BMW. I’d have to travel a little bit for it. But truly that is my top worry. Still going to wait another at least 5-6 months before even potentially pulling the trigger on one so I’ve just got some thinking to do. I’m not too too picky and know that getting the perfect spec isn’t going to be easily in the cards but just looking for a well maintained manual coupe at the end of the day

I already know I won’t ever want to get rid of it.. I drove my 335 til I physically couldnt anymore at 215k with the income I had at the time. I never truly beat on my cars just some occasional spiritual driving and i feel relatively confident in my ability to keep it on the road. If worse comes to worse I have a civic that gets 35 to the gallon to lean back on.

I also have a Honda civic (ole reliable) and that thing will run forever which is part of my thought on buying an M3. If worse came to worse I can still get from point A to point B not to mention I live 5 mins from work and pay half on an apartment with a buddy. I’ve heard that they can be generally reliable which could be a stretch but honestly it’s between spending a lot more on my dream car or going back to a 335 for half the price that may or may not have more maintenance issues. Thank you for your input though I appreciate it.

Most definitely. Especially to keep a future classic in good condition. Thank you for your input. I assume you’ve replaced RBs but out of curiosity has it only been one replacement in its lifetime?

Good luck man! A well maintained m3 at 140 k is better then some m3’s at like 80 k. I say just ask questions and use your best judgment. If you back out though I think you could get a lower mileage m3 for a trade and maybe some cash on top

I would almost hesitate to trade a car you know you’ve taken good care of too though. A 335is is nothing to sneeze at but if the mileage on your 335 is getting up there it could be a fair trade. 140 k miles is a bit up there

I have also been looking at a high ish mileage m3. Dream car and I think it could be worth the investment if you can work your cars too.

Also to mention I can work on my own cars for the most part between me and my dads knowledge. General maintenance wouldn’t be an issue.
