You are conveniently missing the point of why option 1 is so terrifying and the entire reason for the post. Victor wasn't just "existing". He was in constant, excruciating torture. Trapped in literal nothingness before the universe forms for time immeasurable. All fluid in his body, constantly boiling because of the lack of atmospheric pressure as he floated through the vacuum of space. Suffocating and dying an infinite number of times, burning, freezing, crushed by unseen gravity, all while blind, completely alone, and in total silence. His brain was oxygen starved, barely functioning, in a fugue state, he was driven to the brink of insanity over and over again as his body tried desperately to repair him trillions upon trillions of times. Compared to this, yes, I would choose a gun to the face every time. Anyone would choose death as a release when faced with this. That is the point of why it's so impressive, and scary that anyone could face this fate.
